EPL Game Week 37

If you had followed last week's action, that is why the EPL has such a wide following.

Arsenal v Norwich - van Persie finally scored again to reach 28 but that was a second consecutive draw leading Tottenham by 4 points with two matches left. If they win their last 2 matches they get automatic qualification to the Champions League. No chance for Norwich here. Arsenal to cement their place with a win 3-1.

Newcastle v Man City - Newcastle was insipid as they succumbed 0-4 to Wigan but they don't go bad overnight, nobody does. They are in 5th position level on points with Tottenham but a place behind on goal difference with Chelsea a point and a place behind. If Chelsea wins the Europa crown, only three teams from EPL will qualify but Man City is in marauding form after a 6-1 thrashing of Norwich, an easy 2-0 win over Wolves and that master-class 1-0 win over Man Utd where Utd didn't get a shot at goal. Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott reigned supreme. Even Maradona was watching from the stand. City is set to make history by winning the title and no team has came back before at this time to win. First they will edge out the Magpies 2-1 then go on to beat QPR and win the title! But this man Papiss Cisse could spoil their plan. Watch this as it could be the goal of the season.

Villa v Tottenham - Villa is not safe yet. If QPR and Bolton won their remaining matches and Villa loses they could still go down. Tottenham would want to pile on the points as they are 4 points adrift of Arsenal with a game in hand. Maybe Redknapp costs too much to prise away so the FA seemed to have turned to Roy Hodgson. Tottenham will have 100% concentration here. 1-2.

Bolton v WBA - Bolton fought their way to a draw at Sunderland. WBA will have some small distraction as there were news of the English FA appointing Roy Hodgson as England manager. Or would they be more motivated to play their last games under him? Why did the FA spent so much on Eriksson then Capello and now sting on their own countrymen? Harry Redknapp will cost more due to contract with Tottenham? Or Hodgson is an easier gentlemen to deal with. If Arsenal is Barcelona lite then Roy Hodgson is Bobby Robson lite as his CV suggests. When he is finally appointed England Manager, his low key way may just be what England needed - tempering with expectation. Bolton to win 2-1.

Fulham v Sunderland - Fulham never had a chance against Everton going down 0-4. That is more credit to Everton for their brilliant form. Sunderland has not won in 6 matches. Craven Cottage is a hard place to win somehow. Expect Fulham to bounce back. 3-2.

QPR v Stoke - QPR was completely outdone by resurgent Chelsea where even Torres scored three times and got home with the match ball. There was evidence that Torres is back to his clinical best. He will give selection headache to di Matteo for the FA Cup showdown with his former club Liverpool and the Europa Final v Bayern Munich. QPR must win this one to have any hope as their final match is away to Man City. Bolton is level with them with a game in hand. Stoke is a physical side that is hard to breakdown. 2-2.

Wolves v Everton - Wolves has pride of profession going down 3-0 before coming back to force a 4-4 draw at Swansea. Everton has not lost in 6 matches. They added a famous 4-4 draw at Old Trafford and then crushed Fulham 4-0. They are in a rich vein of form now. 0-2 and yes Jelavic to score again. Liverpool missed dearly not to have signed him.

Man Utd v Swansea - Ferguson was there to watch Swansea played Wolves. Racing to a 3-0 lead, one would have sensed a avalanche and Ferguson could have been worried but Swansea allowed Wolves to crawl back to 4-4. This means that while they could score easily they also concedes easily. No fear for Man Utd unless Swansea plays a master class passing game to nullify the home team. 2-1. Utd has to go and win their remaining matches and see what happens to their noisy neighbour.

Blackburn v Wigan - Blackburn tried hard but could not prevent Tottenham winning. It looks increasingly likely for Blackburn to go down with Wigan in such stupendous form. Wigan has lately beaten Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal. They stunned Newcastle with 2 quick goals early on and dominated to win 4-0! Newcastle was unbeaten a long time with 4 clean sheets going into that game. Complacency? Wigan will be saved as they host Wolves in their last game. Had Wigan been applying themselves the same way they could have been title contenders, serious! 1-2

Liverpool v Chelsea - A repeat of the FA Cup Final. If you saw both Suarez and Torres with their hattricks it would be mouth-watering for the FA Cup and this game. Torres is back to his best and Suarez showed with all three goals what a player he can be as all 3 goals bordered on the audacious! It shall be two great matches for both teams. Suarez can be a great player as he has just shown but consistency is the difference between good and great players.  Consistency is separates good and great teams and is something that Liverpool lacks. Falling 0-1 to Fulham at Anfield cuts no ice with the increasingly tired Liverpool fans. 2-2.

Reminder: You are a couple of games from lonely weekends. Take care brudders! Don't go wayward. Talk to me!
