Teochew Porridge

Teochew porridge is well liked by many. It is usually more plain and less oily. It is very easy to consume especially on very hot days. These days, it is increasingly diffucult to get good Teochew porridge. Some are just too expensive while others are just very ordinary. Then you should try out Soon Soon Restaurant.

At the junction of Simon Road and Upper Serangoon Road. During peak hours, there is always a queue there. Only peeve here is that at peak hours it is tough to find a place to park your car. There is a good array of dishes to select.

The service is quite fast and prices reasonable.

This deep fried fish is delicious and very fresh.

The "chye poh" omelette is not salty and has a nice crunch while the fish cake and meat ball are tasty.

The chili lala looked so tempting that I naturally have to get some.

And of course the typical cabbage to go along.

The braised pork is lean and the gravy when mixed with your porridge give an added fragrance to the entire meal.

It is a place I will surely visit again.
