Jacob's Cafe

There is something special about Changi Village. I have featured CV on a few occasions on fishing, visit to Pulau Ubin, hotel staycation and the hawker food here. When we used to visit Changi as a child it was a place so far away it seemed to take forever to reach as the infrastructure and even the bus services were so different then. Changi Village besides being so laid back, is a place that evokes nostalgia. The good old life of days gone by. It is the only place in Singapore where you will find countless numbers of wild parakeets and some cuckatoos giving you the bird's eye view of human life below them. There are also the occasional sightings of hornbills from Pulau Ubin.

A couple of friends stumbled upon a place for a meal which inevitably led to beer. One thing led to another and then we have four. We found ourselves at Jacob's Cafe.

Air-conditioned setting on the inside lets you get comfy while the open space outside in a laid back setting gives you al fresco experience if you like. The place is well stocked with food and spirits!

Beer drinkers will love the washroom. As you take aim, firstly you will be in a set up for a seven-iron shot position. Then when you look straight, you will be reading The Lord's Prayer.

Boy O boy, this is probably the cleanest washroom in a restaurant, cafe or pub! It is like you are at home! Love it! Thumbs up! I tell you beer drinkers would love this place!

Finally, I have the good fortune to have met Mr. Jocob Lim himself. The guy who took this picture didn't have enough beer so his hands were shaking. I saw that they have quite an extensive food list. I saw pork knuckles and they have it in both German and Hainanese and my many Hainanese friends told me that both Hainanese and German are the same language? The Hainanese are all very good with food. I should talk about the Hainanese one day. Jacob offered me his food menu but we were not eating that day. One day, I must be back for the food experience.

We have the Jack's and the Han's so why not Jacob's? Jacob's has been here since 2000, a good 12 years so he must have lots of regulars for all the stuffs and more that I have mentioned.

We will be back!
Jacob's Cafe is at Block 5 Changi Village #01-2049 and they are opened from 9am to 11.30pm everyday but closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
