Singapore Mirror - February 2014

The world is a puzzling place going by what we see where many people just could not think straight, make that just to think. That is why the world can be a dangerous place where others may harm you, you may harm others and we may harm ourselves.  Wedding Debt I read about a $110K wedding. Have you read about the ones where newly wedded couples were already steep in the red, not in the tradition but red in their accounts before they really got started by being carried away with their impressive ceremony being that they are the most important couple for the day? Of course, it is a special day and it deserved to have a bit of grandeur but why would you need a $10k photo shoot in an exotic destination to start with? Will you be staring at it everyday or will it be collecting dust in a store room in the years to come? $2,000 per table at a grand hotel expecting your guests to chip in? Should it not just be invitation to people who are closely related and friends who ...

Sometimes strange things happen for a reason or for no reason but they always say everything happens for a reason. A good or bad person comes into your life maybe at the work place or is your neighbour and then he was gone. He could be an angel or the devil in disguise. Some people or events were probably put there to test you.  Nothing stays constant. Nothing lasts forever. The earth is rotating. Today you are ahead, tomorrow behind and vice versa. Liverpool were great champions in a certain era then Manchester United assume that position. Therefore, if you are a person, a company or a country that is consistent in your delivery, performance, character and culture, then you are close to being constant. It will take a lot of hard work, effort and yes, self reflection. Do not look at yourself in the mirror for vanity but for reflection. That is why we have to mull over things looking at Singapore with a Mirror.  Snakes The last time I saw a snake, it was near Pungg...

Singapore Mirror - August 2013

Recently in Cambodia I met a Singh. A certain Mr. Singh whom I did not know. I was waiting for friends at the hotel lobby and this Mr. Singh was smiling at me as he walked towards me. As he inched close, he said: "You are a very lucky man".  In my mind I was thinking: "Oh no, not again!" Why? Because different Mr. Singh has met me in so many different countries like Hong Kong, Thailand, several times in Singapore and now in Cambodia. It must be that I am really a very lucky fellow.  "You are going to be a rich and successful man" or "there are a few women thinking of you now". I can see it by looking at your face and your forehead".  I have seen them all and I am neither lucky or unlucky. These people could be hypnotists or mentalists. Worse, they may be involved in the "other world". There are people I know who continued talking to them and they knew things about them that they sworn they did not know. Probably they know how to ...

Singapore Mirror

Singapore Needs A Mirror Not Just Conversation I applaud the Singapore Conversation and I hope the authorities are carefully listening because very often even in the business world, few leaders listen but more than a conversation we should have a Singapore Mirror where we can often look at ourselves. A mirror can be truly reflective but then again you see what you want to see. A tiny pimple on a pretty face and one can go berserk or conversely, some people could only see great things about themselves and those other people who would have you believe, like the Emperor's New Clothes.  http://gforce-guru.blogspot.sg/2010/03/emperors-new-clothes.html (highlight the link, right click and select "Go To") If you have been following my blog, you would surely know what I have so strongly felt about our world class education system that has been fraud with problems which we really took too long to realise and make the changes but better late than never. The people who wro...
