Duck Confit @ Le Steak

It was a special occasion. I know lots of food places but you will never know enough simply because in Singapore food places change like changing underwear. Even the oldest landmark, your favourite evergreen food stalls, traditional restaurants are closing one by one for lack of manpower, the owners are tired just like we workers are tired or rental has gone up so much, they might as well pack up and go. I knew a place which at one time I frequented called Tao's. A nice place to go to for good fusion East-Meets-West food done creatively since they were at Paradiz and later at Central. I wanted to go to Tao's because I haven't been there awhile but found out they are no longer operating. If you know where they are let me know. So instead we landed at another haven. I wanted oysters as I haven't had any for a long time but alas they were sold out. I got a cheaper alternative to oyster, I ordered onion rings. These are really good not like some others. We h...

Le Steak - Par Deux

There was a special occasion in the family and we decided to do another visit to Le Steak. This is the link to my previous article: http://gforce-guru.blogspot.sg/2013/09/le-steak.html We ordered some mushroom soup because it is good. As for me it had to be the beef goulash as mushroom is more common everywhere. The last time I came here they didn't have beef goulash and I was disappointed. It is fabulous. If you really do not know what to order, go for the seared salmon which comes with a small portion of lemon grass simmered rice. Of course they have spaghetti and here is the seafood version. This time I got myself the braised lamb. Boy, was it huge. I let everyone tried some but as you know not all people like lamb.  The meat is soft and tender. Very well done. I was very focus and expertly cleaned it up. I must say that after my last visit, the quality of the food has been sti...

The weather has been freakish of late. The torrential downpour recently that wreaked havoc was lamentable.  So on a lazy Saturday afternoon, I woke up a little later than usual as most weekends I wake up at the same time as we ekdays.  My son has been enthusiastic and excited to introduce us to a place which he claimed serve wonderful food. No one else was available and the two of us went for lunch - he to enjoy what he already knew is good and me to explore another foodie joint. So, we went on to Jalan Kayu and I was fortunate to quickly find a parking space between the famous prata and the otah shop. I realised it was better to park on the opposite side where our destination is as at the end of the stretch of shop houses there is a big car park but beware they will come to check your coupon regularly. Be warned. I was finally here to discover about Le Steak at 248, Jalan Kayu.  Le Steak is all about Chef Amri.  It has both indoor and an outdoor d...
