Lee Fun Nam Kee Chicken Rice (After Charity)

After being part of a visit to the Old Age home previously, it was time to carry out the other part, the laborious part. With a sum collected,  we need to know what was needed, got them listed down  and go about getting them from the supermarket and then delivering them. The guys in charge did a great job of listing and estimating the prices, etc. It was quite a bit of work. The supermarket staffs at Fairprice Toa Payoh was really kind to assist us. Two of them helped us to get each and every item onto a trolley. Only thing was they may be wondering why five men are buying so many of these food items? Are they hawkers or do they buy them and stock them for a few months? May be they live together and after stocking they never come out of the house? God knows what they are up to. We got them stuffed in cartons and it was ready for delivery. We have a few cars for transportation. A staff at Lee A Mooi Old Age Home came with a trolley to transfer the goods. ...

Charity

While we welcome the new spring which is the Lunar New Year celebrated by the Chinese, this year being the Year of the galloping Horse, let us not forget those who are needy or are left behind. Even the old, the weak, the poor and the less fortunate have their stories. If they are the less fortunate, we are by and large just the more fortunate. Don't you think? For we, none of us are special or immune to life's troubles.  Let us always count our blessings and remember that we only pass this way but once. Whatever little we can do to help even just one person, let us do it now for we may never pass this way again. First of all, what is charity and what is philanthropy? Charity Charity is simply generous love. It is benevolent goodwill toward or love of humanity. A generosity and helpfulness toward the needy and suffering.  Philanthropy Philanthropy is the goodwill to fellow members of the human race, the practice of performing charitable or bene...

Charity Weekend And Flea Market

I certainly hope the slogan shall come to fruition in our beloved SG and I like the word "Loving". Loving means being affectionate, expressing love or kindness. Love and kindness are actually very big words that are expressed in thoughts, words and action. It is simple and yet difficult and often may not be compatible with modern busy lives. Here is Scorpions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uNyPefjS88 There was a time we used to golf where there were no losers because all winnings go to the ST School Pocket Fund. This time it was different as our son volunteered. We came by to show our approval and thumbs up for him and  his friends! Besides, you get to play with Lego toys. Planting one at the stadium and bringing home another. Then I went down to a Flea Market as I saw an old friend posting it on facebook but we were caught in a thunder storm just earlier. We came to the very nice "Wheels And Wieners" at 25-A Perak Road. He...

I Love Singapore

Image
Colombia and Swaziland visited. You are the 51st and 52nd countries. Welcome! You know how much I hated to wake up at 5am? Except for watching the World Cup soccer and on some exceptional occasions would I do such a silly thing. On this exceptional occasion I had to do it because the family wanted to. 13 November is World Kindness Day. Not only that, churches big and small organised the "I Love Singapore Walk" which is a walk for charity that would benefit many charities here. Well, I love Singapore and I am learning how to walk again the last time being a toddler. You see, as you grow older, you go back to your younger days like retro music and retro fashion. You could even go back to a liquid diet for some folks who love your beer. The Guru's arrival greeted by his fans (wishful thinking). Sometimes I wish I were more famous so that I could help draw a bigger crowd. The sign said it all. Fol...
