TaylorMade RBZ RocketBallz Driver

Image
Those of you who frequented China for golf have obviously been going to the wrong places. I read that a tycoon in Jinjiang offered a dowry of $180 million for his daughter's hand in marriage but it is too late now, she found her other half. Heck, who knows he might even build you a few golf courses! Before I proceed to the main topic, Ping has a new adjustable driver called G25 (previously G20 and G15) which has 1 gram added to its club head with a desired D3 swing weight. Ping's method is different from say TaylorMade as they feel that a driver with more head weight can be good for your distance. Maximise momentum but sacrificing a little speed. TaylorMade themselves are soon launching their latest new driver. Yes, again! Some talked about R13 after R11, wrong. It is the R1. It will come with all the standard TM features to adjust loft, face angle and flight pattern and as usual I suppose, a lighter club to increase swing speed. It will come with all the standard TM fe...

TaylorMade RocketBallz Hybrid

Image
When we were young, we can get excited by new toys. New kuti- kuti, marbles, a new pen or colour pencils, a new badminton racket, fishing rod, soccer boots, etc. So now you have grown up and your pursuits are now into new houses and cars?  I do still get excited by the simple things like a new bottle of beer, a new friend, a new golf club every now and then. The little child in the man is alive. We all know about hybrids by now and most people may have been carrying at least a piece in their golf bag but there are hybrids and there are hybrids. The late Gary Adams invented the metal wood before he sold TaylorMade to adidas and all golfers have since enjoy the power of the metal wood and its sweet sound. So when TaylorMade created the strange sounding "RocketBallz" series of clubs including driver, wood, hybrid and irons, the hybrid kind of stood out not just for the quirky name and its...

Golf Digest Hotlist 2012 - Demo

Image
Golf Digest is one of my favourites and at the top of my list for information on golf. They have a range of topics from coaching tips to humour and many others but their Hotlist for equipment takes the cake. They have the most comprehensive take therefore, the authority to give us what's new and what's good. From a wide range of handicappers to even scientists, they lay them out for our picks with crisp writing in an entertaining way. This was the third Golf Digest Hotlist Demo I was told and I got to attend this as a result of the home club NSRCC being the host and because I received an email notice and so I decided to join and I roped in two friends who love golf. It was my first time at the Golf Digest Hotlist Demo. The list of equipment for 2012 is quite exhaustive, so I pre-selected the clubs I thought were meaningful and we should try. I also wanted my friends' feedback. I certainly think that this should be organised more times like twice a year or even quart...
