They say golf isn't a sport. They also say anyone can play golf. Some people even think that golf is easy. Some feel golfers aren't athletes. Have they ever tried doing it? Try hitting a sweet spot of one square inch with a stick that measure four foot. Can you hit a ball at close to 100 miles per hour and hit it on a spot the size of a dime? You play against yourself rather than  your flight mates. You do battle for 4-5 hours at the mercy of the weather and the elements. You could train for hours or play for years and get destroyed with just one shot. You could hit 250m with a drive and then do a three putt within metres. Haha. So golf are for people who do not get enough frustrations at work?  Bobby Jones said that golf is the closest game to the game we call life. Ping is an iconic golf brand. Karsten Solheim (15 Sep 1911 - 16 Feb 2000), its founder has his finger prints in almost all things golf. The Norwegian born American was the first to have created a putter with perimeter weighting. The name Ping was derived from the sweet sound his putter made when it contacted the golf ball. While Ping became the brand name he wanted to call his putter the Answer but due to space constraint on the putter head, his wife suggested that he dropped the "W" and he finally called it the "Anser".  His perimeter weighting was then used for Ping irons, woods, etc. Today, all golf clubs have perimeter weighting. All golf brands have an "Anser" design putter in their range. Thanks to Ping, you enjoy your golf a bit more. Golf Digest is one of my favourites and at the top of my list for information on golf. They have a range of topics from coaching tips to humour and many others but their Hotlist for equipment takes the cake. They have the most comprehensive take therefore, the authority to give us what's new and what's good. From a wide range of handicappers to even scientists, they lay them out for our picks with crisp writing in an entertaining way. This was the third Golf Digest Hotlist Demo I was told and I got to attend this as a result of the home club NSRCC being the host and because I received an email notice and so I decided to join and I roped in two friends who love golf. It was my first time at the Golf Digest Hotlist Demo. The list of equipment for 2012 is quite exhaustive, so I pre-selected the clubs I thought were meaningful and we should try.
