Whetting Your Appetite

Image
To whet your appetite means to hone or make more keen or to stimulate your appetite. It is different from wetting your bed. Everybody loves food but the question is whether you eat to live or live to eat. Those around my age will testify about the good old days where even hawkers do not hawk their fares or other businesses would peddle their wares if they were  not good at it. They took great pride in their work and they prepared every ingredient on their own. So when you can find good food today, it becomes like a birdie in golf. A rare gem. People kept asking me to write more on food. They like it because I do not talk about those famous ones but find unknown gems and polish them like a King-maker and boy oh boy I have had some very unexpected and pleasant experiences. I help put hawkers on and they got so excited and proud of themselves. To start you off healthy, also done previously I'll give you Yong Tau Fu. This one is at Bedok where you will find a good spa nearby and i...

Food Trail

Food is really one of the most important things in life. We eat when we gather or celebrate. we eat before and after sports or exercise or at other recreation. My blog aims to help others to improve, love themsevles more, gain confidence, have hope, be inspired, bring awareness, experienced love, slap you when you veer off course, get excited, discover new things, place, people, food, etc. Most of all I connect people. I was having a drink with a friend when she later came looking for me with a plate of freshly cooked steaming and crsipy specially made prawn dumplings. I stood up to pay her but she refused and instead told me that this prawn dumpling is something money could not buy as ...

Live To Eat!

Image
Do you live to eat or eat to live? Sometimes you are not sure like standing over a golf ball on the green not knowing if the break is left or right so you just go straight and hope for the best. In days of old, all the food people are highly skilled practitioners who took great pride in peddling their food. Whether it is your prawn noodle, mee rebus, mee siam, satay, chee cheong fun or hor fun they tasted good mostly and were healthier. For every dish they prepared, they do all the ingredients by themselves. Today's food mostly come from a central kitchen somewhere or they sourced the ingredients from a supplier. In fact, some are completely supplied to them. The worst food are those they cooked in advance and then when you order, they just heat it up and serve. No food should be prepared and served that way! You walk into a food court and you see the same food everywhere - minced meat/mushroom noodle, chicken rice, roast pork, duck rice, fried kway teow, Korean food, Japanese...
