It has been more than two years since I have added any new golf clubs to my arsenal of weapons because now I am at a very high level. Haha, its the recession and it is stupid. Because it is the longest club, it is basically the hardest to hit. We are basically fumblers. We fumble our way into the world, fumble through school, through work, through friends, through marriage and then in between all these as if the tortures were not enough, we suddenly think that we could also fumble through golf. When we could not even throw or kick a ball decently and I am talking about a fairly huge ball here, we thought we could manage one that is unnecessarily small, could easily get lost in the woods or waters and have to move so many body parts and yet can't move so many body parts hitting them with up to 14 clubs of different shapes, lengths and sizes? It has often been quoted that the shaft is the engine of a golf club. Before the advent of graphite shaft, steel shaft was the De facto shaft in golf clubs. Before they become shafts, they are just steel sheets coiled in a roll very much like the original piece of metal all rolled up before they were unrolled to cut and form into pieces to be what is your car. That is why I do not speed when driving having seen how it is done to produce a car just like the food you would refuse to eat if you saw how they were done in the kitchens. Graphite shafts are fibres held together by resins. They either use stronger and stiffer sheets or they wrap more layers to determine the weight and stiffness. They are finally sanded and painted for cosmetic effects. What Shaft? Steel or Graphite? There is a significant difference in weight between the two. Why am I Sharing? Life is short, you don't have time to make all the mistakes yourself. Besides, it can be costly. So, why do I want to share precious information with you without ripping you off? Let me share with you a true story concerning the late but legendary Bruce Lee. While he was still a young man at the beginning of his martial arts career under Grandmaster Ip Man who founded Wing Chun, Bruce Lee absorbed knowledge like a sponge even when he was beaten up, he would analyse and search for answers on why different kicks hurt him differently. When Ip Man came back from a trip, he asked an older disciple who followed him to exchange information and practise with Bruce what he learned on the trip and in turn learned from Bruce.
