April's Dry Humour - Part 2

The weather too hot and humid that it can make us talk incoherently. It saps you of all your energy. In other countries, it is freezing. They say that during the period of "Ching Ming" (or Qingming), also known as Tomb Sweeping Day or Ancestors Day, a day where you visit your ancestors' graves to pay respects, it is the hottest period.

People are still burning "hell note papers", paper houses, cars, etc. indiscriminately. If you have walked pass or gone into a shop selling these paper stuffs, you can even find paper computers, iPhone and iPad. The producers and shop owners are confident these products work because you wanted your ancestors to have a good life or so you thought. Maybe he will ask you to sign up for Internet connection,   buy a charger, etc. Maybe they will make you feel bad for not doing it but presuming it can be done, do they know how to use it? Is Steve Jobs there to help?

You either go up or go down right? If you go sideways you become a wandering spirit. Whatever you do, don't go down there. It's too hot.

I have heard this before from everyone. When you are waiting for a bus or taxi they never turn up and when you are not, all the buses that you need or taxis are empty and stopping by the minutes. Isn't it true about going to the loo? Singapore is land scarce and it seems the while the houses and shops are getting smaller, the prices and costs are going North. Even the toilet cubicles have shrunk! How to pee side by side? Take a look.

If 3-4 burly guys got in, it does not not only test your brotherhood, it also test your holding power but the truth is..."He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". Watch The Hollies:

How is my dream car? The cars are still there but the dream is "Poof!"

The dream is getting back to basics and that may be the way to live.

Its good to be bad? I always hear that the bad guys get away. Can I be bad and be tough like a Yakuza?

Have you caught the movie Life of Pi? It is Pi not life of pee. That is when you spent the whole day drinking.

We all have our adventure. Our life's the same. That was before.......

And this was after?

The thing about computer security is that you now need to change your password quite frequently and it doesn't stop there. You will have to use a minimum of 8 characters, may be 1-2 upper case and then 1-2 numbers, etc. and you can't reuse all previous ones. How are you going to remember anything after a few rounds. As you grew older, you can't even remember why you tied a ribbon around your finger. So next time you changed your password, just use "incorrect" so that whenever you forgot the computer will tell you "your password is incorrect."

Madonna is opening a restaurant at Little India, Serangoon Road. I heard she's calling it Papadom Preach. Watch:

Still on restaurant, I am sure you have heard of or been to Bangkok's  famous No Hands restaurant or in some other Asean countries. When I stayed in Bangkok, my hotel room sometimes faced this restaurant and I could see the neon lights but I have never been there. Singapore will have our own no hands restaurant soon sprouting everywhere. This is because we can't find hired help. Maybe they will just put up a sign "This is a no hands restaurant". Nobody is working, no hands to do it. DIY.

Stephen Chow's was already into Gangnam Style long time ago:

This is not a Brauhaus. Brauhaus means brewery or a place where you can get beer. So after a few stiff drinks, do not go looking for more. You may walk into a bra instead of a bar.

They actually say that beer is good when consumed moderately.

Nobody listens to me until I play the piano. Don't make me play the piano but watch these videos about miracles. No matter what stage your life is in or what problems you have, watch this:

You must watch these 3 videos which document a miracle - Leslie - an "Idiot" and amazing pianist/singer!

Leslie was adopted by a couple Mary and Joseph in their 40s when he was 6 months old. Both Mary and Joseph married before and had children by their previous marriages. The 6 month old Leslie was very thin with withered hands, severely mentally handicapped, suffered from cerebral palsy and blind. He had both eyes taken out.

Doctors told Mary that this "idiot" will not be able to live for long. But Mary said the child would not die in her hands. It was hard to feed Leslie as he could not swallow properly. He could not stand or walk or talk up to age of 15 or 16. Mary Prayed to God for a miracle. One day she noticed that Leslie's fingers moved and prompted her to get a piano at $200. One night she heard beautiful piano music and wondered where it came from. In the dark, they found that Leslie was playing the piano.

Leslie still could not talk but started to sing with piano accompaniment by himself. He even played Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto by himself, playing both the the piano and orchestral parts! It is really amazing! You have to watch the interviews on 3 separate videos attached below.

Finally, the Singaporean Identity. What is that? You have the Singapore Identity if you cheated 5-10 minutes of parking coupon time. The other day, I overheard a Chinese lady talking to her friends nearby. She spoke with an accent which is half foreign and half local so she must have been here for sometime. What impressed me was the she finished off her conversation sentence with "kana sai". That's it. Think she made it. Welcome!

Have a good weekend! Be nice. Be good.
