Sincerity
Just like honesty is an absolute, so is sincerity. There is no more honest or less honest people, just honest or dishonest people just as there are no more sincere or less sincere people, just sincere or insincere people. Agree?
Sincere comes from the Latin word sincerus which means clean, pure and sound. It is the quality or condition of being sincere; genuineness , honesty and freedom from duplicity. So what should we value in life? Sincerity, honesty, humility, fidelity and loyalty? To be genuine is to be real not fake while freedom from duplicity means more Batman than Two-Face though Batman wears a mask, haha. There are people who treats wealthier, more powerful people or their bosses very well appearing to be a very nice person but step on and over all others. Why the double standard? Why do you get pissed when a restaurant served a Westerner better but ignored you?
What is uttered from the heart alone, will win the hearts of others to your own. - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
To be persuasive we must be believable. To be believable we must be credible. Credible? We must be truthful. - Edward Murrow
How can sincerity be a condition of friendship? A taste for truth at any cost is a passion which spares nothing. - Albert Camus
One of the hardest things in this world is to admit you are wrong. And nothing is more helpful in resolving a situation than its frank admission. - Benjamin Disraeli
A man can never hope to be more than he is if he is not first honest about what he isn't. - Don Willimas Jr.
No man can produce great things who is not thoroughly sincere in dealing with himself. - James Russell Lowell.
Some sincerity will serve well in the long run but total sincerity is often detrimental. - Martin Dansky.
The last quote does show us that at times because of our sincerity, we may lose a friend, we may get condemned or even reviled and taken advantage of.
Sincerity is the way of heaven. - Confucius
Insincerity is always weakness; sincerity even in error is strength. - George Henry Lewes
Sincerity is the key that opens the door through which you will see your separate parts, and you will see something quite new. You must go on trynig to be sincere. Each day you put on a mask, you must take it off little by little. - G.I. Gurdjieff
Everyman alone is sincere. At the entrance of a second person, hyprocrisy begins. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sincerity is an openness of heart; we find it in very few people; what we usually see is only an artful dissimulation to win the confidence of others. - La Rochefoucauld
In this world that we live in especially the modern context, being sincere is an elusive virtue as this would mean speaking truly what one feels, expressing your desires and thoughts. Sincere words do carry great risks to its utterers or writers since you are opening yourself up to the world and the world is a place where homo sapiens put on a smokescreen in their daily life.
All of us expect our leaders, friends and lovers to be sincere, to have this natural quality of simplicity which is only found in young children but yet it is so elusive for ourselves. It is thus all about being truthful and open versus being hypocritical and deceitful. Here, let me share the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes":

Children's stories are great. We learn it so well when young but as we become grown up, influenced or tainted by the way of the world, we changed. We utter words that people like to hear. You hear what you wish to hear and then it goes around throughout the world. As the majority live it this way for the longest time it got us all ingrained. Not doing so and following suit can make you an outcast but also beware there are those who can be sincerely wrong!
It is like walking on a nudists beach alone fully clothed. The rest will squirm! So what should we do?? Go back to those beautiful children's tales of Aesop's fables and stories from Hans Christian Anderson which I will be sharing with you over the course of time in due course.
When you are alone, you may be sincere. The moment another person comes into your physical space, you may take on another persona, insincerity creeps in. You begin to play another role, another character, you are theathrical, there is pretension. For this reason, we can never truly understand this human behaviour. I prefer that we meet as equals, without wearing a mask, stripped entirely naked. No airs, no motives, not seeking an advantage.

Why? Because we came into the world naked and naked we shall leave. Don't leave all the masks behind for the next generation to continue. Imagine the power of nakedness. Imagine the USA without firearms, naked from firearms. Nobody can shoot and kill innocent folks any more.
