EPL Game Week 32

Singapore's gaining momentum in the Malaysia Super League. Goalie Hyrulnizam Jumaat showed steady hands in the absence of first choice Izwan Mahmud so far. Kelantan FA Chairman Annuar Musa complaint of Singapore's participation is expected as there is a threat of competition to his team. Politics at play.

Back to the EPL - Clearly, it is Man Utd's title to loose with five points clear and seven matches to go and a more favourable run-in. Losing 1-0 to Swansea, held 1-1 away to Stoke and then 3-3 at home to Sunderland has almost put paid to Man City's title ambition. Chasing the title you just don't trail Sunderland 1-3 at home but credit to City for their comeback. It is now up to Arsenal to end City's pain earlier when they meet at the Emirates while Man Utd gives the sinking feeling to QPR. It showed that Utd is more of a team than City.

Swansea v Newcastle - Kudos to Swansea for continuing to play open attacking soccer even when they faced stronger teams. Manager Brendan Rodgers must be given great credit! When Alan Pardew formerly sacked by West Ham came, it was "Alan who?" Pardew was shrewd when he first bought Demba Ba and then Cisse with the money he got for Carroll. When I saw how the Magpies controlled and attacked Liverpool I thought Pardew could be named Manager of the Year! The Toon Army has been amply rewarded. Swansea could hold Newcastle at home but on current form, it must be a Newcastle win. 1-2 to the Mighty Magpies.

Sunderland v Tottenham - The Black Cats showed poise, great commitment and belief to lead and finally held Man City away. Utd shoult thank them for the gallant effort. Tottenham got back to winning ways with style in their 3-1 demolition of Swansea. Possession and slick passing alone are not enough and you need speed to overcome Sunderland and that Tottenham has in abundance. It could be a draw but I am holding out for a Tottenham victory. 1-2.

Bolton v Fulham - Bolton are taking things in their own hands rather than waiting for others to falter. 3 wins in a roll and another will do nicely to stay up especially at home. Fulham are safe and Bolton would be hungrier. It could be a draw but Bolton deserve to keep up. 2-1.

Chelsea v Wigan - Chelsea won away and hit four past draw specialist Villa and yes Fernando Torres scored! I know how Torres felt because it was like playing golf like sh*t till the 15th hole then you start to play like a champ. Arsenal and Spurs are five points ahead of them and Newcastle are level. Despite Wigan's gallant 2-0 win over Stoke and their occasional upset over teams like Chelsea and Liverpool (2-1 at Anfield), it may be too much for them to overcome the home team at Stamford Bridge. 2-0.

Liverpool v Aston Villa - Liverpool, save for that 3-0 win over Everton have lost five matches on the trot even at home and also to teams like QPR and Wigan. Their reputation and morale has taken a severe beating. When Dalglish took over, many were happy but when I told them Dalglish will not solve their problems, people thought I must be mad. Carroll played quite well against his old team at St. James Park but I was in disbelief when he beat Williamson to a header, went round Perch and faced with Tim Krul who was beaten, all he had to do was to stroke the ball home but instead he chose to dive and got yellow-carded! Maybe he knew he had over ran the ball. Credit to Newcastle who out thought and out played them. The Magpies were confident making sweet short passes and and stringing quick one-twos. I thought Liverpool was wearing a new strip of black and white. Looks like a draw here but for old time's sake I will stick my neck out to pick Liverpool to win 2-1 even if they have to break some bones to save their reputation.

Norwich v Everton - Norwich's form has faltered while Everton's is rising. Everton will have a strong finish to the season including this one. 1-2.

WBA v Blackburn - On their day WBA could beat anyone or give them a good game. Blackburn was going great guns beating Wolves 2-0 away and then Sunderland 2-0 at home only to have lost twice to Bolton and then Man Utd. QPR's surprise win over Arsenal has put them back in the bottom three. I really thought that Bolton and Blackburn would stay up. 2-2.

Stoke v Wolves - Wolves has little to fight for except pride. Five points adrift and at the bottom. Stoke who went down to Wigan actually held Man City and Spurs before that. 2-0. Just unleash Peter Crouch.

Man Utd v QPR - QPR are level with Blackburn and Wigan. It was a great performance against Arsenal. Can they repeat it to Man Utd? They can repeat that performance but Utd will not crumble so easily. Utd has not conceded a goal in four games. 2-0.

Arsenal v Man City - This is the breaker. Arsenal are neck to neck with Tottenham. The loss to QPR was a setback. Robbie van Persie scoring in almost every game has stop scoring for 2 matches. City drew 2 matches in a row and it will probably be over when Man Utd beats QPR and they do not win at Arsenal and Balotelli is a major distraction and City has lost confidence. I think the Manchester Derby would have only pride to play for when it comes. 2-1.
