Bulgaria came on my blog recently. Welcome. The US and Europe economies are in bad shape leaving us stranded again before we can take off. They are doing so badly that the only banks left doing so so are the sperm banks and even one sperm donor can have 150 offsprings that it is threatening the human race in another way. So if you don't cut it as a perm sec then be a sperm sec. The state of the economy is too depressing so let's talk about food. We still need to eat right?

I had puffer fish once and did not die after I saw the others eating it and they didn't die. I had this at Tomoe (Thomson Road) - the Fugu Mirinboshi, a dried sweet puffer fish which tasted like "bak kwa", our Chinese BBQ pork.

We had Bliss at Punggol Park for quite awhile, it was a popular hang out but has moved out and I read about the Wild Rocket's good food and that they had opened a joint where Bliss was called Wild Oats.

We did the Mojito. Hmmm, not bad at all.

I had the braised chicken with noodle which is quite good.

But these chicken wings are really good, especially the accompanying chili. Spicy and great tasting.

Our Swedish friends were happy. It was a little too dim out at the deck near the pond. Sorry about the picture quality. Although there were many customers, the service was quite attentive and they know their stuffs.

But my friends were not too enthusiastic about the otah bread but they said the laksa was good.

You can choose to sit inside, at the deck or in between the two. If you want preferred seating, you may have to book a place I think. Today's dining experience is not just about food but also ambience.

Hong Kong has quality food because Hong Kongers are demanding of its standard and they have sharp taste. Their simple beef noodle, wanton noodle and milk tea are delicious. In recent times, it has led to a string of Hong Kong Cafe sprouting out. We did this at Icon.

We tried ministrone soup.
This pork chop with ramen was pretty good.

They do their hor fun pretty well (with egg) and yes "wok hei" the breath of the wok. Hor fun without wok hei is just "hor" but no "fun".

The curry was good too except that it will suit those who do not need them more spicy. I like my curry more spicy.

Ah! Of course, a need to wash them down with a nice ice milk tea. In all probability, they will taste even better in Hong Kong but overall the meal was quite enjoyable. It's been awhile, let's go to Hong Kong.
