EPL Game Week 7

Noisy Manchester neighbour City caught up when United slipped with a 2-0 win over Everton. Rooney's injury must have played a part. Arsenal are looking like Gunners at last thumping Bolton 3-0. RVP is looking the part and stalling negotiation for his new contract. Chelsea swarmed Swansea 4-1, Liverpool won 2-1 against Wolves and Newcastle continue to surprise with an emphatic 3-1 win over Blackburn. WBA were held 0-0 by Fulham, Wigan lost 1-2 to Spurs, Stoke held the Red Devils 1-1, QPR and Villa got a stalemate and Norwich edged Sunderland 2-1. Where to from here on from Game Week 7? Let's gaze at the crystal ball.

Everton v Liverpool - How many of you including Liverpool fans know that Liverpool FC is not only the Red half of Merseyside but they actually originated from Everton? Yes, they lost 0-2 to City but this is a derby and when it comes to a derby you can throw form out of the window. Just like Malaysia v Singapore games. Gerard would be back by now and Suarez has been wonderful but Everton is at home at Goodison Park. 1-1.

Aston Villa v Wigan - Villa Park is not a good place to visit now for Wigan. If Rodallega is still out they will have a tough time. It's Villa's turn for a win again after their last draw. 2-1.

Blackburn v Man City - It's going to be very difficult for Blackburn. Even Newcastle can trounce them and even though at home to Man City, they will have little chance for a result except that the midweek trip from Germany could cause them some tiredness. How could Mancini complain that they lack depth? Maybe even the tea lady costs them a few million pounds and could play if needed. Is City really that good going down 0-2 to Bayern Munich away? But Bayern is a very strong team. Still City will be too god for Blackburn. 0-2.

Man U v Norwich - Finally Man U was halted last week but still they didn't loose. If Rooney's hamstring has been healed then the Canaries will have an even harder time. Old Trafford's Theatre of Dreams are not for dreamers but doers. Will they survive and have their feathers plucked even though they could beat Sunderland? 3-0 to the Red Devils. They will always score but a 3-3 home tie against Basel wasn't exactly convincing stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvaspxZ5AwQ

Sunderland v WBA - How did Sunderland beat Stoke 4-0? The Black Cat lost to a Canary bird. They were strangely subdued. WBA has been losing by a very small margin, this is the best time to pick a win. 1-2? Everyone else would be picking Sunderland as they are home.

Wolves v Newcastle - Wolves could actually cope with Liverpool but they will face the meanest defence currently in the Magpies who are used to be a lot more generous. Something good happened to Newcastle who are at present in 4th place. What is wrong with them? Have they forgotten their place? The long suffering Toon Army deserved this. A low scoring draw perhaps as there may not be many goals given their miserly record. 1-1.

Bolton v Chelsea - With Gary Cahill, Kevin Davies, Klasnic there, I have not seen such a meek Bolton as this season. Only for the horrors of recent weeks, when Arsenal can put 3 past you and let nothing in, something is wrong! Meeting a marauding Chelsea picking up steam with the 4-1 stroll over Swansea is indeed a bad time. Worse, injuries and suspension has weakened Bolton further but Owen Coyle besides being a good manager is a real gentleman. 0-2. http://fullhighlights.blogspot.com/2011/09/video-torres-goal-vs-swansea-loverly.html

Fulham v QPR - Both teams are about the same. Joey Barton has added steel while SWP has been given a new lease of life and he seemed to be enjoying his life again tearing down the wings. Fulham themselves have Riise, Murphy, Dempsey and Zamora playing well. 3-2 to the Cottagers.

Swansea v Stoke - When Stoke lost 0-4 at Sunderland I could not believe it. I knew that if any team could halt Man U's perfect run it would be them. So at first, I penned down 1-1 for that game but later changed my mind reading too much into the loss at Sunderland. Stoke should by now have the tallest average height for their team with Peter Crouch getting his first goal. 1-2.

Tottenham v Arsenal - This is another derby not to be missed! It is a bad time for them to face one another. Both are capapble of playing a cracking game and both are coming back to form after knee-jerk starts to the campaign. Arsenal is equally capable of winning and losing this one. I think a 2-2 draw might be it but this will do them no favours. I like the look of Per Mertesacker who resembled former Arsenal great Tony Adams so much especially when he was running with the ball. Calm and steady all day.
