EPL GameWeek 6

Nigeria became the 88th country to reach my blog.

When a game result turned out unexpected some folks will say "kelong". I don't want to really believe them. If this were the case, then recent EPL results must have the bookies working overtime. So how do we hazard a guess for Game Week 6?

Manchester City v Everton - City's 100% wins were halted when leading 2-0, they allowed Fulham to come back 2-2 at Craven Cottage and credit to the home side. If Barcelona could lead Real Sociedad 2-0 in less than half an hour and ended 2-2, then you have to forgive City. Aguero is really a reincarnation of Brazilian great Romario, uncanny and clinical. What I can't understand is when I played Aguero in Fantasy League he didn't score but Dzeko did and when I switched them, the result was reversed. Sigh. Meantime, Everton is slowly coming back with Jagielka putting a stellar performance. Everton can be a hard nut to crack but do City have the resolve now? Their only movitation is to think United. Everton does not score a lot but they have increased their goal haul with 2 against Villa and 3 against Wigan. I think a close 2-1 win for City. Owen Hargreaves a fine defensive midfielder of Man U and England joined City after a long struggle with injury and what a goal he scored

Arsenal v Bolton - Arsenal's every game will have people saying this is their deciding game for the season but after leading and then losing to Blackburn away with two own goals at 3-4, they now read 1-1-3 for win/draw/loss. They are painfully slow starters but they are not Carl Lewis - slow off the blocks but always won. If they do not get their act together, Wenger need to read the riots act. The Gunners need to make teams fear them again and get a result  before morale sink a tad lower. Bolton started off brightly then they lost, got a 0-5 whipping and then a 1-2 home loss to Norwich and you do not know what to make of them anymore but they have been a bit of a bogey team for the gunners. Both need a kick up the backside but whose butt would be kicked? 3-2 to the Gunners?

Chelsea v Swansea - Chelsea was 0-3 down to United before half-time. Torres, a striker of great finesse was working really hard but confidence has been drained for so long. He finally got his goal but he missed one that our grandmothers could have scored. Obviously they had a better second half but the damage was done. At this rate, I do not see them challenging the two Manchester teams. Swansea peaked when they scored their first goals all three of them v WBA but at Stamford Bridge you will be swimming with the sharks. Chelsea is not Man U in attack and and not Arsenal in defence. A workman like 2-0 win will do.

Liverpool v Wolves - Liverpool's bubble burst at White Hart Lane so Spurs wasn't that bad after all only Liverpool was worse. They should have signed you or me as we drink or party occasionally, at least probably less than Andy Carroll. Carroll's and Liverpool's game is in danger of being like Peter Crouch and England. Pun the ball up to the target man and hope for the best. With Skrtel and Adam sent off they crashed 0-4 to Spurs while Wolves crumbled 0-3 at home to QPR. Is this the beginning of the end of bad results or the end of their good start for both teams? 1-1.

Newcastle v Blackburn - You will not believe this. Newcastle is unbeaten this season! The Toon Army deserved this for years of suffering despite the fanatical support. The defence has been holding up well and despite losing Nolan and Joey Barton, they are delivering the goods. Blackburn hopes were already in the back burner until they met a very friendly team like Arsenal. Where they can only score once against weaker teams they could get 4 against Arsenal but the Magpies' defence has been mean this season conceding only 2 goals in 5 games. 1-0 to the Magpies.

WBA v Fulham - They did not play badly but results were not there losing narrowly to Man U, Chelsea and Stoke then they were crushed 0-3 by Swansea. Fulham is picking up steam and that 2-2 result v Man City will mean something especially coming back from 0-2. WBA is actually quite decent and away games are always that wee bit more difficult unless you are Man U, a draw may be likely. 2-2.

Wigan v Tottenham - Wigan conceded 6 goals in their last two games and scored just once suggesting they will need a plumber to fix the leaks. Spurs are in the mood right now after pumping 4 past Reina and Rafeal van Der Vart has not started yet. Wigan's main source of goal is from Hugo Rodallega who was injured in their last game. 0-2 to the Cockerels.

Stoke v Manchester United - Stoke was doing so well then they came crashing at Sunderland. Suddenly, question marks pop up. Meanwhile the Red Devils are having a ball. If they continue unabated, they will run away with the title! Can Stoke make them lose at least a point? Unlikely! United is now scoring early in each game even against teams like Arsenal and Chelsea and Rooney's $50k new hair has done him wonders. United's stats read 5 straight wins with a goal difference of 21 to 4 which means they score an average of more than 4 goals a game. 0-3 to the Devils.WP

QPR v Aston Villa - QPR plays attractively and could win games. Maybe you can bid for free tickets with AirAsia or MAS to London on the cheap. No? Maybe someday, a Malaysian or other Asians can play there too but Villa is undefeated and has chalked up a win. Another draw for the draw specialist. 1-1.

Norwich v Sunderland - This will make an interesting game since Norwich can win away against Bolton and Sunderland suddenly came back to life thrashing Stoke 4-0. Canaries v Black Cats.
