So Are There Really Ghosts?

Well, if you have been following, I have given you a fair dosage of my encounters. I may write about it again if I recalled other experiences that are worth retelling. In conclusion, the most important question is - are there ghosts?

If you are an atheist, you do not believe in God but some atheist believe in the devil. This is a bit strange because even the devil believe in God. There is always light and darkness. You can't make darkness darker as darkness is simply the absence of light just as hatred is the absence of love. There is always a constant battle going on between good and evil and this resides in all human hearts too. Very often, the devil need not rear its ugly face to frighten people. The devil can use stealth, cunning and deceit or it just use your greed, ego and pride and you become used and spent. You play into his hands and fall prey easily by means of temptation and temptation can come in any form and at any time.

Why do I say this? Because oblivious to us, if you believe in good and evil, light and darkness, God and the devil, then regardless of your religion, it is all about the spirit world. There is a constant battle going on that involve you but oblivious to you. Whether you will say or do things that hurt others - your family or friends. There is a battle for your mind. How things will turn out depends on who or what you allowed into your mind.

So then are there really ghosts? If so, what are they? From the beginning, I have explained that in many instances, sightings and hearings claimed by people are often not true. Some people are too easily frightened, lights and sound can play tricks on our eyes and ears. At times, people can probably be too stressed.  Some folks do not even possess a calm mind in the first place. I told the story of the "Whistling Ghost" and that was a case in point. Some people believe that the Pontianak was actually owls that flew in villages from dusk to dawn and those men who journeyed home in relative darkness in the wee hours already either too tired or drunk. I have even heard about three golfers who accepted a walk-in to form their flight but the unknown walk-in person suddenly disappeared on a walking course.

If Pontianak resides in banana trees, then the Philippines must have the world's greatest infestation of Pontianaks. Firstly, what is the meaning of ghost? Ghosts are disembodied souls or spirits or the spirits of dead persons that appear in bodily likeness to the living person or to haunt former habitats. It has got to do with souls, demons, spirits, a haunting image or memory. Ghosts are associated with haunting at particular places like a building and phenomena may include poltergeist, disturbances, apparitions, sounds of steps, voices, cold drafts and even odour.

To me this is just a word coined for convenience of reference. Ghosts if so called are from the spirit world. Like humans where we have the good guys and the bad guys, the other world too has the good spirits and the bad ones. The good ones work for God and the bad ones' boss is the Devil. When you experience physical affliction, hear, smell or see things that are ugly or frightening then you know where it is coming from.

Very often, you won't even know you are being used by the devil just like when you get used by people. Each temptation to hurt or get back at people for example is the work of the devil. Scheming to hurt others is the work of the devil. There are so many examples that we can easily say that all negative things are the work of the devil. This is even more frightening than those ghost stories. Haven't you heard "better the devil you know than the devil you don't?" The devil can oh so subtly change you without even you being able to recognise it.

To protect yourself, you need to have a strong mind and a strong heart because both your mind and heart controls everything else. The mind needs constant nourishment with wisdom and truth while the heart needs purity. Practice makes perfect and when the devil knows he is better off elsewhere than to get you, you'll have a better chance to be left alone. An even better way? Ask God for protection. This would be brilliant.

Do you need to fear? I put it to you in this way. We used to have more flying cockroaches in the old days. When one flew onto your face then crawled and made its way down your neck and ran through your arm or similarly a lizard fell from the ceiling and ran through your body - the kind of feeling is kind of creepy. Not something you like, gives you goosebumps and makes your hair stand. Some people experienced these once and they developed a phobia and freaked out forever in their lives. The truth is that cockroaches and lizards will run when they see you. Just stamp your feet. So too should ghosts and demons if have have the crowning glory of light. Ghosts are to me demonic manifestation.

Do not and never deal with the occult even for innocent looking or innocuous stuffs like the Ouija Board. In the old days, it was common for Chinese people to use it as some believe it to be a divination. Even school boys saw it being done and do it sometimes on their own with friends using a coin to answer posed questions. Often, they suspected each other of using their fingers to forced the coin to move. My advice to you is to stay away from such stuffs as some circles considered this to be occult.

Finally, do you feel gutted when people just make use of you in a bad way? I am sure you do because your mother did not give birth to you for this purpose!! You see, humans can be more dangerous and deadly than ghosts. If you feel absolutely disgusted to be used and abused by people and you won't want it to happen again then you have to watch yourself. Every wrong turn, bad decision, traps and pitfalls are the work of the devil. The devil lures , entices and seduces you all the time.

There was this guy who died and was brought down to hell. The devil greeted him and showed him around offering three rooms A, B and C for his stay. When room A opened, he saw all of them standing on their heads on a metal floor. He then visited room B and found the same thing - people standing on their heads but this time on wooden floor. When he got to room C, it was different. He saw people sitting down and busy chatting away,  drinking beer and coffee but their feet were deep in shit.

After viewing, the devil asked him out to discuss his final selection. Already quite clearly in his mind, room C was an obvious choice. So the devil handed him over to the room C superintendent who then led him back to room C. When he got there, he was happy and excited and was about to start introducing himself to the rest when the room C superintendent shouted out to everyone in the room: "Okay guys, coffee break's over. Back on your heads!"

Empty your hearts. Reduce your needs. Let go of your ego. No more pride, no envy. What is there to fear? Fear not the weapons but fear the hands that wield the weapons! Those are your own hands! When you and I are united joining hands to do the right stuffs we become the world! No fear shall come to you when your heart and mind is at peace. The seventh month will be over soon and we have succeeded somewhat in burning less over the years but in Indonesia they are burning big time. The haze is bad. We can't take it not to mention to be burned in hell.

Nothing is more frightening than what I will share with you now. I was having a few beers then I went for dinner. Now it has nothing to do with the beer. I ordered a very delicious steaming bowl of porridge. I was somewhat hungry and was about to partake of it when a friend sent a sms. It was something I needed to read and doing it halfway I somehow carelessly dropped the entire phone into my bowl of porridge. It was funny and comical if it didn't happen to you. I was sharing the table with a young Singaporean lady with his Caucasian friend and I felt I was letting Singapore down.

This were a very nice couple of people as I heard them discussing how they should help me whether to pass me a normal tissue or a wet tissue and then they offered the wet one. I asked them for forgiveness for the comic moment and assured them it was the first time it had happened so I had no experience. I also agreed that it would never happen again and finally I said that it happens to the best and wished them a good evening and a greater weekend.

Now this is not my fault. The fault lies with the government for not making some ostrich holes at hawker centres so that when things like that happened, I could just bury my head in the hole. You see, there are more frightening things than ghosts in this world. Trust me! Do share with me these frightening stuffs when we meet. Till then...have a great weekend.
