Last week I published "VS135" and "Running In The Family" among others. It drew some responses from friends. An old friend wrote: "Geoff, this is perhaps your best about VS and family. Those were the 70s, Toa Payoh and as you have said, the age of innocence." But I have been "bested" umpteen times, for soccer articles, Bruce Lee or whatever. Another long lost friend from school - secondary one distinguished classmate of mine who received my article forwarded to him said: "Geoff, what a nostalgic walk. It was like walking with the Victorians. Interesting, I can recognise the teachers...Thanks for the wonderful collation of shots and the warm and tender writing. Received with much fondness of a wonderful time..." Recently Albania logged on to be the 89th country. I am travelling and going places with the butt firmly in place and feet on the ground. How I wish we have the luxury of time to travel to all the places and making so many

EPL Game Week 7

Noisy Manchester neighbour City caught up when United slipped with a 2-0 win over Everton. Rooney's injury must have played a part. Arsenal are looking like Gunners at last thumping Bolton 3-0. RVP is looking the part and stalling negotiation for his new contract. Chelsea swarmed Swansea 4-1, Liverpool won 2-1 against Wolves and Newcastle continue to surprise with an emphatic 3-1 win over Blackburn. WBA were held 0-0 by Fulham, Wigan lost 1-2 to Spurs, Stoke held the Red Devils 1-1, QPR and Villa got a stalemate and Norwich edged Sunderland 2-1. Where to from here on from Game Week 7? Let's gaze at the crystal ball. Everton v Liverpool - How many of you including Liverpool fans know that Liverpool FC is not only the Red half of Merseyside but they actually originated from Everton? Yes, they lost 0-2 to City but this is a derby and when it comes to a derby you can throw form out of the window. Just like Malaysia v Singapore games. Gerard would be back by now and Suarez has

F1 - Out Of This World! (Part 2)

The Party The first thing I did when I got into the suite was to break into a song and help paint the town red! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW1dbiD_zDk&ob=av3e  (Pink) It was a hot day. A hot day was better than a rainy one. We needed some beer to quench our thirst. Here's the Tycoon and the Guru. Cheers all the way! The Guru, the Chief - Dr. Lee and  the Drunken Master Adrian (he master the drunken). Announcing the arrival of...the Towkay. Awaiting for the action to start at the balcony where you can soak in all the atmosphere, smell the burnt tyres and hear the incredible decibels of noise from the eager roar of the engines. These are what may help a little. Use the smaller ones and if not enough then the biggies or both. One thing is for sure, you won't need to dig your ears for a month or two as an internal avalanche would have taken place. The Porsche race got started. It isn't easy using a normal camera or handh

F1 - An Exhilarating Experience (Part 1)

My Experience Once I wrote about my F1 experience but it was taken down as an unknown party has lodged a complaint. I was informed that an email would be sent to me to explain but I have never received it. I went through everything to edit but could not put a finger to it as everything I said was good. One possibility could be that I put a screen shot from TV on the winner's rostrum but I never re posted it. There was nothing to gain for me and in fact it was free publicity. The F1 fever was here and just before the race, I overtook a Maserati and it could not get back at me. Ha ha. It was because there was a traffic jam. The Journey A world class event was in town. They said Monaco was great but there is something more and very special about the night race in Singapore. It is a big party carnival in town. I have an invite and decided to try our local transport system during Sunday off-peak. First, I took a bus and then I connected by train and in a
