Pearl's Optical - Care For Your Eyes

Strangely, I was never short-sighted when I was in school. So in terms of my eye sight it was a breeze - 6/6. I only realized something was wrong when I was at the National Stadium for a soccer match after a long time and when they flashed the line-up with the players' names and numbers on the opposite I thought the score board was for the other side to read. It didn't help that in the old day, every player was unique in that you recognized them in the way they ran or moved so when I could not see their numbers I still knew who they were.

I was well into my second half (not soccer) of my twenties when I realized I was short-sighted after doing an eye test. No wonder every lady seems beautiful at one time. My world crumbled as I can't call people four-eyed anymore. It must have been caused by the midnight oil I burned - er, reading comics. Fortunately I have a good place to go to and have been going there ever since for all my eye care needs together with my family. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to "Pearl's Optical".

Pearl's Optical is special because they are long time family friends.

They carry with them a wide range of brands and models of all kinds of glasses and sunglasses like Rodenstock, TODS, Ray Ban, Tag Heuer, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Hoya, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Cartier, Dior, Prada, Oakley, Porsche, Philippe Starck and a great many more plus all products that has got to do with eye care. Been there done that. Checked.

But the most special of all is Mr. Koh or Uncle Koh as I address him! He treats everyone like family friends. The affable Mr. Koh puts everyone at ease and makes you feel so comfortable and you will find him to be the busiest, most hardworking and most likable man. Everybody knows Mr. Koh and if you don't it is your loss. You will all have some eye care needs so you owe it to yourselves to look for him. Pay him a visit. Tell him you are a good friend of mine (if you are) or that you have read my blog even if you are visiting from overseas. Many travellers from abroad have come and bought many things.

Yours truly trying out a pair of Philippe Starck. Modelling?

Mr. Koh Senior is assisted by a few of his children including his son - eye specialist Dr. Koh. Pearls' Optical uses many state-of-the-art technology and equipment to ensure you get the best eye care. Even for the vain at heart there is hope. Look at the picture below of a standing dark panel mirror for your viewing pleasure. When you are at your narcissistic moment, a red dot appears on the mirror
and snap a picture of you.

Then you will appear on TV like a movie star to check how you may look with certain selected eye wear. The one on the right has a lighter frame which pales on the face and the larger lenses will make the face look flatter. The one on the left has a darker frame that gives clarity and the smaller lenses will make the face slimmer and sharper.

If you like you can do it as a couple.

Philippe Starck is indeed an excellent designer. I like. At this point, resistance is futile.

If you are short-sighted and at the same time need sunglasses you will sometimes have a problem because your sunglasses need prescription. What better way than to get this polaroid for your UV protection of your eyes when driving or golfing. Just put them on by wearing it over your spectacles. Bingo! Great for folks who are wearing glasses.

There is no better place for all your eye care needs. Go to Pearl's Optical and you will know Mr. Koh senior is as iconic as all founding fathers. He will treat you well. Say my name and you will get more friendly banter - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQgd6MccwZc

Trust me.

Pearls' Optical is located at People's Park Centre #02-22/23/24/25.

Yes,i can't decline that Pearl's Optical is very big showroom and had a very good Optometrist(Dr's) but service wise is very very bad. I ordered a multi focal reading glass with Titanium Flame and both Leg's loosen after using for less than a week and brought back to them, they tighten it for me yes but loosen again after about 10 days until the screw cross on top round up even i myself also can't tighten it and they keep on insisting that the screw is OK. I went down again third time to ask them to tighten it and this time, they told me that they have put some rubber solution together with the screw and it will not loosen again. Yes, it didn't loose for only about a month, now i just threw it in my drawer.

Dear Guru, I agree with you ... I made my prescription glasses there and I am very glad with it. Besides, Mr Koh senior, aka the boss, really give me the family / friend feeling when I was there early this year. I am going back there to make another pair of specs for outdoor - sunglasses frame w prescription lenses. cheers

Dear Alan, if the problem is genuine, speak to the boss. Dear Desmond, good for you. Cheers!
