EPL Game Week 17

I told you the score would be 3-2 didn't I? I just got the colour wrong.  What a game it was between Man City and Man Utd.

We should celebrate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PRHSyMvhMI (if you can't access direct from link, highlight link, right click and go to).

Newcastle v Man City - Considering their great stride last season, Newcastle seems disastrous this year. Yes, Man City lost to Utd last week but they came back strongly to level at 2-2 before that wicked deflection by Nasri from RVP's free-kick. In their last five meetings, Newcastle has never won. While City is not stronger than last season, the Magpies are now worse which leads to one conclusion. An away win for City. 1-2.

Liverpool v Villa - Liverpool surprised many with their come from behind 3-2 away win over West Ham. Impressive as it was not an easy feat for this current team and there was no Suarez. There is hope. Villa came to life when they crushed Norwich 4-1 away on the League Cup. Liverpool have a better record than Villa face to face with wins/draws/loss ration at 3-1-1. I believe another win for Liverpool here. 2-1.

Man Utd v Sunderland - Man Utd got a high after the win against their noisy neighbour and now has a clear six points cushion. Sunderland truth be told was abysmal against Chelsea but they came back strongly to stun Reading Royals 3-0. Utd v Sunderland games are always quite close but the Black Cats has never won. Utd won three 1-0, once 2-0 and there was a 0-0 draw. With Utd in scoring form it will be hard for Sunderland to gain something unless they give a super showing. Besides they will be at the Theatre Of Dreams. 3-1.

Norwich v Wigan - Norwich is unbeaten in 10 EPL matches including that pulsating 4-3 win away to Swansea before they succumbed 1-4 to Villa in the League Cup. They have taken the scalps Man Utd, Arsenal, Tottenham. Wigan has been fairing rather poorly but their two previous match up were both 1-1 draws. I feel that the Canaries will be too strong at home despite the League Cup hiccup. 2-1.

QPR v Fulham - QPR has not lost for 3 matches now but they were all draws - 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 both home and away. So there is some improvements under Harry Redknapp. Fulham has not won for the last seven matches and only won 2-1 against Newcastle at home last week. This is a London derby which QPR has a poor record against the visitors. I have been pinning for a QPR for the last two matches so I will again say a QPR win. They should be getting more desperate for their first win. 2-1.

Stoke v Everton - Stoke is hard to beat, does not score much and concede few and very much a draw specialist but they have lost to Everton only once in their last five times winning twice. All their matches were never more than 2 goals in total. Stoke has been unbeaten for eight games now while Everton has held the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City and has just beaten Tottenham. This one should be a draw. 1-1.

Tottenham v Swansea - Tottenham was on a winning streak till Everton brought them back down to earth. In their two most recent encounters, Spurs won 3-1 in a home game and drew 1-1 away. Swansea was unbeaten for seven matches before that 3-4 home loss to Norwich. This should be a great game for both are attacking teams. It will be a show between Michu and Defoe but Spurs has more goal scorers in their ranks. 3-2.

WBA v West Ham - The Baggies was on a four match winning streak but when they suddenly crashed and lost 3 in a row. In their last four matches, 3 ended up draws of 0-0, 2-2 and 3-3 with WBA winning once at 3-2. With both teams losing a bit of steam recently it will be a draw. 2-2.

Reading v Arsenal - Reading is a scoring team but in the last two matches they have stopped scoring. Even when they were scoring many goals they have lost. Arsenal had a lucky break in that 2-0 win over WBA and now although being away are facing Reading. When they met in the League Cup, Arsenal won 7-5.  Go big as a big score should be on the cards. 2-4
