I Shall Pass This Way But Once
"I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again."
The original quote was from a Stephen Grellet (1773-1855), a missionary from France to the USA. The original quote was: "I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again." As he belong to the Quaker missionary, this quote was widely circulated as a Quaker saying. It has often been mis-attributed to the more famous Quaker - William Penn, as well as others like Ralph Waldo Emerson or Mahatma Gandhi.
Let Seals and Croft tell you that we may never pass this way again.

We were all strangers before we became friends don't you think? Often, it is a chance happening that people get to know one another. A stranger we meet today could be a friend tomorrow but what happened when you had not taken the trouble to listen to someone, say hello, shook hands or simply smile? Then that chance meeting, that fleeting moment would be gone. Possibly forever. Perhaps nothing will bring them back and this person could be the best friend you would ever had.
So do you have time to listen to someone, help another, smile, learn something or teach something, touch someone's heart, tell somebody how great they are, share or call a friend for no reason but just to say hi! When was the last time you smell the rain let alone the roses? Or listen to the wind and feel the breeze brush gently against your face? Have you been using all your senses and are you cherishing every moment? Your baby or toddler is only a baby or toddler once - a moment in time. It will never be the same again. Savour it. What is stopping you?
Your children may be still young but when did you last kissed them when they are still a child as once they grow up they are grown ups. The last time you kiss your beloved other half? These are the little things that make life, well life. How many of us are just rushing through life as busy as ever not realisizing we are rushing towards certain death? Have we forgotten to live? Ain't it true and simple enough to comprehend that it is only when we live life purposefully, appreciating the wonderful little things that we can live life to the fullest? Have you hug anyone lately?

Do you show kindness and mercy wherever you go? If your answer is no, why not? Let me leave you a quote from Plato to carry in your heart always:
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle" - Plato
How true!
Kindness in deeds are profound but kindness with words can be very powerful or devastating. A tongue six inches long can kill a man six foot tall. Allow only certain things to occupy your thoughts for your thoughts will affect how the heart feels and how you feel shall lead to the words you would say and finally applying the action as your final touch.
How we came to know one another could be by chance, through work or through friends. A time, a place, a person. Even after we meet and later depart, we say our goodbyes. Do you realize that bye means to Bless Ye shortened to bye. We all need to bless one another, to wish each other well. Truth be told that each time we leave we may never see each other again. This is not cynicism. It is a fact of life.
Any moment in time that we passed through, it is that "fleeting" moment. Any good or kindness that we can show and do we should do it now. Regardless if they were family, relatives, colleagues, friends or even strangers. That moment will never come back.
Friends, keep these words from Stephen Grellet with you:
"I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again."
Then let me bring you a song that some of you may be familiar with - May Tomorrow Be A Perfect Day (Donny and Marie Osmond) which is also my wish for you!
