You Can't Have Your Cake And Eat It

You can't have your cake and eat it! You must have heard umpteen
times or read about it. It is a popular English idiomatic proverb of sorts or like a figure of speech. What does it mean?

Basically, if you had consumed something you can't preserve it. Another connotation is that someone is wanting more than he can handle or deserve or having two incompatible things. In short, you can't have it both ways, you can not have the best of both worlds.

You must also have read about Singaporeans who gave up their career that pays well and then set forth to start their own restaurants, bistros and bakeries. I think the only way to have your cake and eat it is to set up your own bakery otherwise buy a few more cakes. The following is a very popular cake shop where their cakes are selling like yes "hot cakes" because not only do they sell you quality cakes but theirs have special flavors that is tantalizing and comes with fluid designs.

This is an award-winning cake shop.

They have a wide variety of mouth-watering cakes to cater to your desires and is nestled in a typical neighbour in Ang Mo Kio Ave 10. Looks can be deceiving and never judge a book by its cover. The test of the pudding is in the eating.

They have Oreo Cheesecake, Black Forest, Orange Chocolate, Apple Martini, many more and the very popular Lychee Martini. While one could not have your cake and eat it, one should also not drink and drive and in this case, do not devour a few slices of it and get high but no worries, the Martini quantity and taste is mild.

May be next time I'll inject my own additional Martini for extra kick. I really think they should add a rum and raisin or do they already have this recipe?

Even if you did order in advance, come collection time, you have to be prepared to wait in line especially on special occasions like holidays, Christmas, New Year, etc. For cake lovers, you will get your heads spinning when you get there. It's like you wish to try everything but the lychee martini is really good.

You will have a selection of colours and designs to choose from if it is a special occasion.

Or if they were to be built in tiers, you can opt for different flavours like martini below and chocolate on top.

Well, life is just like a cake. Firstly, all the world is like a fruit cake, it would not be complete without some "nuts" in it. Then very often, you will realize that you cannot have your cake and eat it. It is also about choices and the price you have to pay with the choices you make. May you make all the best choices each time.
