EPL Week 5 & 6
Game Week 5 & 6
Aston Villa 1 Bolton 1
I predicted a on goal win for Villa but the Villans are in deeper trouble than I thought. They lost manager Martin O'Neill and then James Milner to Man City so they really shouldn't be too bad suddenly. Can new manager Gerard Houllier bring them back. Owen Coyle formerly of Burnley has done well for Bolton. Villa is now away to Wolves next who played well but lost to Spurs. Dunne was one of the EPL's top defender but he's not showing the same form for Villa. I pick burly Norwegian John Carew and young upstarts Agbonlahor and Ashley Young to shine and score and win 3-2 versus Wolves. Wolves did well versus Spurs but they could not kill the game. Here was Young crashing in a beauty...
Paul Robinson was one of the EPL's top goalies last season and should have gone to the World Cup. No wonder he got angry with Fabio Capello for putting others like Ben Foster and Robert Green in front of him. He's having a great start for Blackburn. I once saw him scoring from a long punt from his own penalty box pas the goalie at the other end. This time he sent over the cuckoo's nest when his goal kick was touched by Samba's head leaving Schwarzer a normally good goalie nervous for the rest of the game. See he he looked at half time as he left the field. They next visit Blackpool who by now must be the find of the season before they met Chelsea. Blackpool dare to play which is good and bad because they can surprise you with a win and floundered against the might of Chelsea. Blackburn is not an easy team to play and make that doubly difficult with Sam Allardyce in charge. 1-1 when they meet.
It was Arsenal's loss of two points when they should have sealed it. That's the problem with the Gunners. Fabregas is just coming back to form and now he's out for two weeks. Chamakh has solve their aerial attack's weakness and given a new dimension. They host WBA this time at the Emirates. You can't think WBA will be slaughtered even though Arsenal can be capable of doing that but against Birmingham who does not concede many they pumped in three. 3-1 to the Gunners.
Manchester United 3 Liverpool 2
Liverpool is having a difficult start and they must start picking up the pieces. They didn't look too bad but their final third was woeful. Torres was a pale shadow of himself but he was responsible for the the opportunities which Gerrard converted. From TV, O'shea should have been sent off for hauling down Torres as the last defender and not only was he let off, he rubbed salt into wound when he crossed for Berbatov to score the winner. It isn't easy to come back from 2-0 down to level 2-2 but Gerard's penalty and free-kick brought Pool back and they have have just sealed up the draw and what was wrong with Berbatov for scoring a hattrick. The second was a gem when he leaned backward and hit an overhead kick which crashed in from the cross bar leaving Reina stranded. Something is not right with Man U. They let Everton come back with two goals and now Liverpool. They are visiting Bolton and who can say Bolton are not able to put two past them but United shall come away with four. 4-2 to the Red Devils.
This was how Berbatov looked after the first goal.
Gerrard penalty conversion sending Edwin van De Sar the wrong way.
Gerrard's free-kick goal when Fletcher left a gap in the wall.
Everton is having a terrible start which they don't really deserve. Having lost 0-1 at Goodison Park to Newcastle they now travel to London to meet Fulham who has lost Bobby Zamora to injury and it took Clinton Dempsey to score. Everton is good enough to win this 2-1.
Spurs came back from the dead so that they could fulfill my 100% prediction for a 3-1 win over Wolves. Thanks. Now they face West Ham at Upton Park. Easy game? No! It's a London derby. Avrant Grant will not have an easy time as Spurs will win a narrow 2-1.
Stoke had a solid seaons last year but when everybody is beating West Ham they could only draw and that at home. Now they have to face a resurgent Newcastle who played a solid game away to Everton and came away winners. The Toons to win 2-1.
I got it right 100% when Wigan lost 0-2 to Manchester City. With the money they have splashed Man City don't play like they champions. and they will find the sternest test yet when they host Chelsea at the City of Manchester Stadium. This will show the men from the boys but City has enough to give Chelsea at least a 2-2 draw to make it less boring while Birmingham should make good the chance to claim a home win over Wigan even if only 1-0.
Finally, Liverpool will beat Stoke 2-1. Why? Stoke is not in form and Liverpool is on home soil. It is time to look at the sign at the dugout "This Is Anfield" and let it remind their opponents starting from now.
Here was my old team, not ex team but "old" team. We called ourselves the "Defending Champions". Nice name huh?
