F1 - The Formula

Before this historical event in Singapore, the only F1 that people know is between Esc and F2 on the computer keyboard. Not only was it historical but it was the first night race! The fact that it worked did not surprised me as it was also Singapore eons ago when during brain storming, we came up with the first night zoo known as the "Night Safari". What else did we learn? Sometimes in life, a single mistake can be costly as Felippe Massa and his Ferrari team found out and also that in whatever situation you are in, all is not lost as Alonso surprised himself at the end on the winner's podium. It is not over till the fat lady sings! In soccer parlance, the game is not over till the final whistle.

Bernie Ecclestone, F1 Supremo - a man of slight built and showing all or more of his 78 years on planet earth. Craggy-faced with unkempt grey hair, his fortune is worth 3 billion and counting and even if he were to be clad in bermudas and tees, he still hold sway to the F1 franchise with power and fame thrown in. So never give up your dreams or small hobbies that you have the passion for even when you may have suffered some setback. Get ready to bounce back and go the distance! Even dear Bernie was visibly pleased with the organisation and commitment by Singapore where we have gotten ready all and sundry in ten months, three months ahead of schedule when they need two years in Europe to do things at this magnitude. Kudos to Singapore!
Singapore should do well to build on this euphoria by building some great race circuits for motoring enthusiasts rather than for the absence of it seeing people racing illegally in Tuas or in Malaysia. From here on, pros and ex-racers can join in contributing their expertise or to earn a living and so that safety can be assured in a proper racing circuit equipping others with the right skills in motoring too. Who knows, Singapore may one day produce a champion of our very own.

As I cruise through the KPE each time, I also learned that overtaking at high speed is easier than overtaking at low speed limit of 70 km/h. At the higher end, you have to contend with the G-Force which is like twice the g-force of a rollercoaster or more and at the lower spectrum, you are in danger of the Z-Force where you may doze off Zzzzzzzz....., typical of Singapore where everybody seems to be a walking zombie these days.

Prior to Lewis Hamilton or Felipe Massa setting foot in the Singapore circuit, I have already tested and meandered through the straights and curves in the Marina area. I have also gotten the chance to flick my paddle shift.

The Formula in F1 is to create a buzz which indeed it has. But please take note that it doesn't pay to travel in the Buzz-lane (Bus lane).
Reading the praises heaped on the little red dot flooded me with glowing pride.
When you cut me up, my blood drips red and white and the last six drops comes in the shape of a crescent moon and five stars.
I'm gonna turn to my XBox Need For Speed in the meantime.
Ciao!
