Today is 14 February. It is Valentine's Day. Once in a long time, like today it coincides with Yuan Xiao Jie, which some say is the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day in a way. So expect to more than the usual crowd out there everywhere, all dressed to the T, to impress, to celebrate as commercialism up the ante on such an occasion. The irony of life is that those who are single and alone may yearn to be attached while those who are attached may look at it another way and thinking "dude you don't know what you are getting into". Yet some people treat others like things - once you get it, you take things for granted and no longer treasure it as before. Just ask your things - cars, iPads, golf clubs, clothes, shoes, bicycles, rackets, whatever, etc. To me, Valentine's Day is like the Lunar New Year as Roses and other flowers are like Bak Kua. It has been the tightest contest in EPL this season where nobody can be absolutely sure who will walk off with the title. A lot will happen in the next few weeks to determine the real McCoy.  Cardiff v Villa - Both are suffering as their results in their last matches were poor. Cardiff sank 3-0 at Swansea while Villa got beaten 2-0 at home by the Hammers. It suggested that both teams' attacks are blunt and defence poor. It will end a tie. 1-1 . Hull v Southampton - Steve Bruce's Tigers upset the form books when they won away at in-formed Sunderland. Not to take credit away but the Black Cats played with less men.  Even Tottenham can't find a way to win at Hull.  The Saints were unbeaten in 8 matches. While we welcome the new spring which is the Lunar New Year celebrated by the Chinese, this year being the Year of the galloping Horse, let us not forget those who are needy or are left behind. Even the old, the weak, the poor and the less fortunate have their stories. If they are the less fortunate, we are by and large just the more fortunate. Don't you think? For we, none of us are special or immune to life's troubles.  Let us always count our blessings and remember that we only pass this way but once. The Englishmen are doing some fine stuffs over the last weekend and Roy Hodgson in attendance must have felt good. Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez and Ricky Lambert starred for Southampton. Even Andy Carroll created some threat and assists for West Ham and Sturridge scored again and shall be a very important player for England, may be more important then Rooney. Then there was young Oxlade Chamberlain who got a brace for Arsenal in a 2-0 win. Adam Johnson came alive for Sunderland and scored 7 goals in 7 games. They have to play their way into contention. This is World Cup year! Liverpool v Arsenal - Liverpool looked lethargic against WBA but took the lead due to the genius of Suarez who hooked the ball to Sturridge who simply tapped in but lost control in the second half and what a boo-boo by Kolo Toure. Do you remember that there were times you were watching some futuristic movies many years ago and they try to show you what the future will look like with computers, robots, etc. Then they flashed on the screen "...in the year 2013..."  Well, we have got past 2013 now and are right in the future in 2014! MSL I watched Singapore played in the MSL. In the opening game, they seemed nervous. Pahang was overated and still we lost. Then at home to traditional powerhouse Selangor, I was surpised and impressed by their comeback win. Then even when high-spending Johor were leading us, we remained calm and came back from the dead to snatch a point at 2-2. What does it tell me? Allow me to share. Izwan  is a good goalie especially when launching an attack. Lee Bee Seng needs to work on his weaknesses in set pieces and conceding goals at the near post. The defence is generally okay. Afiq will grow into it. Our midfield is actually quite talented. Hafiz will eventually make a name for himself. Isa Halim is a tough fighter but I have to question if he should be made captain. It's about temperament. Gabriel Quak has shown deft touches at times but need to do it more frequently.
