Labrador Park - Part 2

This place was once called the "Dragon Teeth Gate", a replica of it looks like this.

It is only natural that those in their 50s and those in their 20s see things quite differently, if you still can see things at all. Do you know for example that Admiral Zheng He or Cheng Ho or Ma Sanbao or Haji Mahmud Samsuddin was a Muslim Chinese mariner, explorer who commanded a fleet larger than the US Navy today to South East Asia? I saw reports the he brought Islam into S.E.A.

Some people believe that Admiral Zheng He outdid Christopher Columbus and he actually founded America. They even believe that he was a Cantonese. Legend has it that as his fleet got near American shores, he raised his palm to his brow and spoke in Cantonese: "Ah, Mart Eh Lei Kar?" And his lieutenant said ah Mart Eh Lei Kar, "A-me-ri-ca!"

West is where the sun sets so if you are looking to where you wanted a sunset beau, go West my friend. Going West allows you a vantage point to see the Pasir Panjang Terminal and Sentosa.

You will also have a glimpse of the "Reflections.

Or Caribbean by the Bay, million-dollar houses here. Singapore they say is the world's richest country but how come I do not feel it? Each time the ERP beeps, I am no longer rich!

If we were to draw a map like these we could be dead.

Fortunately, we still have forested areas like here with dense foliage.

Maced playground for you to get lost. If you do not get lost,  how do you find your way? Get lost!

Ah, deep-rooted trees teaches us to be deep-rooted. The greater the span of your roots, the stronger you are.

Regardless, sometimes we do need a life buoy!

The subtle painting of jelly fish can be a delight but beware that jelly fish has no heart and they sting.

Even Johnny Weismuller or Tarzan can swing from here. The ex Olympic swimming champ has the best Tarzan call of all time. Sometimes, in life I got so frustrated I feel like shouting like that anytime, anywhere. Shockingly, I sounded pretty much the same! Anytime, anywhere has since became my motto in life. SAS commandos' motto is: "Who Dares Wins!" Mine is now "Anytime, Anywhere!" Whatever it means. Do you know why Tarzan screamed like that? Ask me when you see me.

The lovely jetty is now out of bounds.

What a pity!

The Labrador jetty was once iconic.

Watch the signs!

For marine conservation.

What a lovely stretch!

All trees and nature are reminders of their immortality and timelessness! They'll still be here when we are long gone.

The winds were very strong which made flying a kite, cycling or running a joy. You can run and not be tired and you can walk and not be faint.

But a great tree needs fear no wind.

Fishermen are everywhere. They marked their territory.

Nothing beats a hammock on a windy day!

Or guidance during turmoil.

As times go by, any guidance for direction is useful. There'll come a day where even your own silhouette looked old. No arrogance is necessary. Be timeless like the sea.

Travelling back in time, this was how I looked in 1979 but we haven't had that spirit here since 1969!

Yours truly on a cliff I climbed as young people seems immortal.

Here was Barry Chua trying to look cool but it was really quite cold, I actually saw goose pimple on him. Hi Barry, after meeting you twice in so many years, where art thou??

This is like Time In A Bottle as sung by Jim Croce. We are no lesser than the stars and the trees. Most memorable of all was when we hit midnight of December 31, 1979, all the ships blew their horns to make an amazing sound! We woke  up in the morning with dews on our faces and we proceeded to gulp down a few roti pratas just outside of Labrador! How time flies!

I wish all Muslim friends "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!"
