I Am A Legend!

Sometimes you hear people say that they learned much when travelling. Well, if you see people suffering in some countries or how simple their life is or how others do things better and gained a sense of that balance, understood their culture then you have learned something. Otherwise, you will learn much more by watching Discovery or National Geographic channels.

Leave me out of itinerary travels, those that jam-packed you with 20 places in 10 days with a value for money package (value for money does not mean cheap). Actually, sometimes a holiday can be more stressful than normal days. You may have no alternative when visiting a country where you can't read even the street signs or moving around is just too costly. I prefer being a bum and basically doing nothing for a break and perhaps the only great things about holidays or a vacation means that it is the only time where the whole family are together doing the same things - no computers, games, face book, etc. Then, the other you achieve is that you break routine and you have an opportunity to do something or go somewhere where you have never done or been.

The feeling of being stranded on a big boat for a few days can be terrible that is why I have never done it and precisely because I have never done it gives me that opportunity to do something I have never done. The closest I've gotten was watching The Love Boat on TV. It so happened that everyone in the family and extended family could make it.

Well, welcome aboard The Royal Caribbean Legends of The Seas.

Learn to put ice cream on a cone. Again doing things never done before - getting ice-cream on a cone. You think it was easy right? Anyone can do it but it was just the looks and if it looked like something coming out of the wrong end...

Ah...it gets better with practice. Everything gets better with practice. I realised I can't make a living selling ice-cream.

I met Bruce Lee on board and asked him to pose with a back-kick and a side-kick. He obliged.

It's dangerous to be with or around me as I can make people do crazy things.

.....like this....making adults feel like children...

...and children feeling like adults.....

It threatened to rain at first...

Another cruise ship with views from balcony rooms.

It was very clean and well maintained. Perhaps the ship is new.

Just to confirm that you are floating and steaming...

Rooms are well appointed. Sleep all day if you want then eat then sleep then eat.

Towel art. They conduct lessons for you too.

Everywhere we go-o, people want to follow...

The last time they thought the earth was flat. If you believe there is a God out there who created all things, then the earth and the world around us is amazing! You will feel so small and insignificant in the midst of nature and not all mighty in your own world. And you do not need air-conditioning especially at the top deck at night.

Those with big houses will need these...

The beautiful interior is tastefully designed.

Magnificent indeed! The staircases are like piano keyboards. They should allow people to walk or run up and down making music. Those who wanted faster music can glide down using their back sides.

The one arm bandit. Now all push buttons as they concluded it was a faster way to reap off all your money by breaking your arms and your legs without breaking an arm. I didn't use the casino at all.

The top deck where you can swim or get all your food any time of day and late at night.

Throw away your watch, just relax. The art of cool - relaxation, hang loose and be carefree.

Go for a swim. Have a cool dip.

Let me tell you about your future...

I didn't have rock-climbing during my time. Why?

Ring my bell - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URAqnM1PP5E

This fellow is a great flamenco finger-guitarist. Virtuoso performance. Brilliant!

If you love food, go on a cruise. Here, everything has already been paid for except alcohol. It's more like steamboat than a cruise ship. You can probably eat eight days worth of food in four days. Go to Windjammers at the top deck any time but whatever you do, do not miss this Romeo and Juliet Restaurant especially for dinner.

And here is why - the food is mama mia! All dressed up and nowhere to go? Go for the food!

If it's fine dining, then you need suitable decor, lighting and ambient.

And when you look at the menu, you knew you had it! Especially when you can have extra servings. I was told that not all cruises offer the same quality of food. This one is awesome.

Escargots Bourguignonne. Go home and start digging your gardens.

This was one of the best fillet of beef I have eaten for some time. Medium or medium-well they do it to perfection. Some local restaurants and hawkers must learn this.

These were some of the best desserts I have had including on board those few days. Choose wisely. If not you may end up ordering another. It is like some folks after they got married. They ordered their food and then look across the table and they wanted the other fellow's food instead. The joy is that in this one, you can have another helping. Just watch your health meter. Look at this and you know what I mean.

This souffle was something to die for. Fabulous!

James Bond?

Need cash? Go do some work. This is just to tempt you and your dream can become a nightmare.

Capturing a lightning flash across a completely dark sky. Pure odds?

Sunrise is not easy to capture perfectly but any silhouette will do for me. You just don't get the full splendour in the city but only when at a beach resort or a cruise. When was the last time you saw one?

It evokes a warm fuzzy feeling. A brand new day is what we always need. Shouldn't we be thankful?

It's coming up a bit. This is how I like my eggs! Sunny side up!

The French toast here is marvellous. Better than any I have tasted anywhere.

They should try carving them melons into a golf ball with dimples.

Beautiful lifts, balcony and stairways.

At Penang, we spotted lots of jellyfish. A tourist in Phuket died from jellyfish sting recently. Some types of jellyfish are used as a delicacy in Chinese cuisine. Explosion of jellyfish population are considered an indicator of imbalance in the ecosystem or pollution. Do not play with or touch jellyfish even dead ones. Jellyfish has no brain or heart but it stings. So don't be like one and when you are called one don't be too happy. It just means that you are brainless, heartless but stings. Go ahead, call someone that. They may not know it. Tell them if you intend to let them know.

 Roll call, blow your horn.

I found a pair of lookalikes. Clones?

More yummy stuffs.

How can anyone eat so much in such a short time? You walk around and feel tired and when you have not much else to do between breaks what do you do? Eat!

The sun was setting. Time to go home soon.

Besides the movie theatre, the shows on board were first class. Really good. They even had a couple from Cirque De Soilei that performed on the last night.

Now I know what it's like. Like I said, a holiday is good when the family are together and do things together without the distraction of daily life at work or at home. It is even better for the extended family to be together, a rare opportunity when the timing was good. You break routine. A cruise is very convenient where you just throw your bags in and do no more transfers. Group of friends or companies can organise such trips for fun too. And if you live to eat, this is quite a paradise. Now that I've been here and done that, I am Legend. Of the seas.
