I have a dream...

Martin Luther King said in 1963: "I have a dream..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4AItMg70kg&feature=related. What about you?

First of all dreamers are always great. Often, what we set out to do, hope for or dream about may not materialize quite soon but because you have a hope and you dare to dream, you set forth a motion, a catalyst, a positive power that resides in the hearts of many such that even if you were long gone, the inspiration continues. These are dreams of aspiration.

What about dreams as in well, dreams. Good old lazy dreams. I know some of you just dream of winning the lottery and then go jet setting, live in a big house an drive a nice car. Let's warm you up with Roy Orbison In Dreams: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbxsmcT7GOk

Dreams

A dream is a succession of emotions, images and sounds that our minds experience during sleep. Although it has been a topic of great interest and speculation throughout the history of the human race, it has never been fully understood. Many people especially in ancient times feels that dreams have meanings or divination or even messages from gods. They could even be from the deceased from the nether world or even prophetically a revelation of the future.

REM (Rapid Eye Movement) was later identified and defined. During REM sleep, the eyes fluttered beneath closed eye lids. People can talk, laugh or cry during sleep when dreaming. It was reported that an average human would have about six years of dreaming. I feel short changed because I seldom dream. When I hit the bed, I sleep. May be I am more of a day dreamer. Many years ago when I was much younger, I dreamed that I hit the jackpot on lottery and the numbers were as clear as day but when I woke up, I remembered everything including the euphoria and all else except the numbers. Sigh. Do you dream? Dream often and often forget your dreams? Do people who stopped dreaming are just too busy to dream or suffering from brain damage? May be our brains are still full of activity when we go to bed? Talking about REM how can I not share with you Michael Stipes and his band REM. Here's Happy Shiny People: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCQ0vDAbF7s and Everybody Hurts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pudOFG5X6uA and with lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2N_uvnvGbI. I love this band.

What Kind Of Dreams?
What kind of dreams do you have? Young people may get wet dreams. If you are old and still having wet dreams, please go see a doctor. I think a lot of dreams involved emotion and anxiety like suffering, pain, abandonment or fear and sometimes happiness and joy but it seems negative ones outnumbered the positive ones. Or do you have recurring dreams. May be it is because you kept doing only the same things. Hehe.

If you dream only in black and white, please do an upgrade. Don't be stingy and be a cheapskate even in dreams! Are dreams an interaction between the conscious and the subconscious? Are you a psycho? Philosopher Immanuel Kant proposed that the lunatic is a wakeful dreamer.

Some dreams are so real you can really feel yourself there - like being chased by cannibals or fighting zombies. May be you have just quit drinking for a while then suddenly you dreamed of drinking and a sense of guilt prevails. Some people have what I won't call a dream but instead a nightmare where you have found yourself naked in public, chased by the most ferocious monsters and it seems to last. Funny thing is nobody will wake you up at this point or no distraction to wake you and when you are having the sweetest dreams like being surrounded by a bevy of beauties on a beach in Tahiti sipping pina coladas, gin tonic or Bacardi (rum) / Coke you got awaken by an alarm clock or your wife who is holding a ladle as if to whack you with it. Does she know your dreams or do you dare share with her?

Then there are those who experience deja vu - a sense of experiencing knowing a place, a person or something which seems so familiar. Are dreams a reflection of our deepest fears as well as desires?

What Do Your Dreams Mean?

Are they rubbish and nonsense that your brain creates from fragments from your memory and images. Are they omens and symbolic? If you always dream of being naked, may be you are trying to hide things or you are unprepared and fear of exposure. One of the most common is one of falling, falling and falling...falliiiinnnngggg. May be things are beyond control and you feel that you are falling then you wake up and went: "Phew!"
Some dreams involved being chased...by people or by monsters. Perhaps some work or business problems has overwhelmed you? Or a habit that has consumed you? Or you dream of attending an exam or an important international meeting and when you got there you can't find the exam hall or the meeting room? Is this because you feel inadequate? Some times we may dream that we are flying. Does this means we are on top of a situation thus soaring above?
Maybe you dream of running around in a big house or place, you kept running but going nowhere. Is that a sense of despair you feel with life? Or do some folks dream of their teeth or hair falling out and feeling embarrassed and powerless? Recurring dreams could be a stress or fear that you have not acknowledged or overcome like a trauma. Nightmares can cause anxiety, sadness and fear even in adults. Some times too much medication can cause nightmares I think.
One of my greatest fear in a night mare was going to work forgetting that it was a holiday. What about you? Do you dream and do you like your dreams. Kenny Nolan does - I Like Dreaming - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6yC7b0VOzY

Dream Catcher

What is a dream catcher? Dream Catchers are arts and crafts of the Native American people. The original web dream catcher is of the Ojibwa and was meant to teach us wisdom. For nature is our greatest and most profound teacher.

Dream Catchers are made of twigs and feathers since ancient times and woven with love by grandparents for new born children. They are usually hung above infants' cradle to bless them with beautiful and peaceful dreams. Good dreams are caught and descend through the feathers on the way to the dreamer. Any movement of the feathers indicate another beautiful dream. Bad dreams are trapped in the web and when the sun rises, they evaporates like the morning dew. Now that's a beautiful story.

You want to know what kind of music transport me into another stratosphere? It's something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrMQhs1hoTA (Secret Trailer)

Here is a Dream Catcher...

The original has a semi-precious gemstone and the one gemstone in each web represents one creator in the web of life. Native Americans have great wisdom. They have discovered medicine and usage of many things from nature.

I am going to sell you dream catchers of various sizes and colours because I know many of you wish for good dreams and some have bad dreams that needed to be chased away or trapped and banished. Perhaps I will develop some golf clubs and call them Dream Catcher.

Alright, wake up and go back to work!
