Cobra

S2

Cobra has introduced a new set of irons and called it the S2 with the slogan: "Pick a spot and stick it." It is constructed with multi-material (means not going for a song) with optimized heel-toe weighting for the highest MOI for distance and forgiveness. It also has a urethane sole insert for feel. The sleek looking S2 is among the first of new irons to conformed to new iron grooves rule which will be enforced as a competition condition by major Tours from next year. Looks strong and steady with its silver/black and yellow trims.

ZL Driver

Cobra's latest driver the ZL is short for Zero Limits. It is black and sharp looking. Just shortly before this were the S9-1 and the L5V. Previous Cobras have huge hooded heads and they make a loud noise.

Ping G15 & i15

Ping has launched their 2010 model of a full range of G15 & i15 drivers, woods, hybrids and irons. Essentially the G-series in this case the G15 are engineered for extreme distance and forgiveness and has been heating up even the PGA Tour. The i-series are built for better golfers who crave control, feel and distance.

Ping range of drivers are now numbered five in their stable and can been seen as follows: G15, G15 Draw, i15, Rapture V2 and G10. All of them are titanium with deep faces and the Rapture has added tungsten weights. All are built with extreme forgiveness with the i15 only being high in forgiveness and the Rapture with maximum forgiveness. The new G15 plays with a high trajectory while the other three are mid-high save for the G10 with medium spin the rest are all low spin. Face profile for the i15 is traditional while the G10 and Rapture are slightly elongated while the G15 are all elongated.

TaylorMade

Penta TP

Titleist has been the most dominant force in the golf ball market. TaylorMade, after a few years research is coming up with the new Penta TP ball which is the world's first five-piece ball. Y.E. Yang started using this. This 5-piece is built for different result when hit with a different club such as driver, long, mid, short irons and wedges.

Rossa TP

This TaylorMade putter is designed by the famous Kia Ma. It comes with black finish making it look unique and stylish and has tungsten weights for balance.

Raylor

The Raylor hybrid is TaylorMade's latest new prototype. It is a rescue hybrid built for best use from deep and wet rough and comes in 19 and 21 degrees. With long and straight being the standard these days, this will hit high. Already being used in Tour it should be released shortly.

R9 460

The original R9 driver was like 418 to 422 cc small in comparison and therefore meant for very good players and for those who likes to tinker with their drives much like Alfa Romeo drivers who likes to tinker with their cars. If you must have one, go for the latest R9 which is 460cc and easier to use. With this, you can change your loft, lie and face angles but unlike the original R9 (where you can adjust dispersion range from draw to fade within 70 yards or something like that), this R9 460 has no movable weights.

R9 Irons

This will be the latest TaylorMade irons, the R9. The driver, fairway woods and hybrids were already here. The still fairly new and very successful and lauded Burner 2009 are actually still pretty new and now they are adding the R9 irons to complete the R9 range. Interesting.

TP Wedges - xFT

TaylorMade makes lots of interesting stuffs. They are going to introduce a new TP wedge - the xFT which is short for eXchangeable Face Technology. This enables you to just use a wrench to replace the face of the wedge with a new face with new grooves. Amazing!

Nike Dymo STR8-FIT

Tiger is using a Dymo driver. STR8-FIT is straight-FIT. It has 3 open (to reduce hooks), 2 neutral (to launch higher) and 3 closed positions (to reduce slice) and comes in square or round head.

Titleist Scotty Cameron Kombi

Made from aircraft grade aluminium to make it lighter plugged on with 3 tungsten weights at the sides and the back. This is a mallet putter.

Exotics David Glod Tour Proto

Odyssey Black Series i

This putter is made to have a carbon steel body with heavy tungsten flange and multi-layer face inserts for better feel and forgiveness.

Mizuno

Introducing the players' MP-68 and MP-58 and also the more forgiving MX series the MX-300 and MX-1000. MP-68 has 3D muscle and Tour sole for pure ball striking made from their famous forging process for feel and control. MP-58 has Dual Muscle Titanium for penetrating ball flight, increased MOI and feel. MX-300 looks attractive and comes with minimum offset for aggressive players but with added forgiveness and high launch. MX-1000 has maximum MOI for help in distance and is super-forgiving. Using plasma welding (a costly process) for a thin but hot maraging steel face.

Callaway X Series JAWS

Rogerland Cleveland who founded Cleveland Golf and is now chief designer at Callaway is coming up with the Callaway X Series JAWS at the end of the year. It will feature Phil Mickelson preferred and inspired grooves which are sharp and large to put more spin into hour wedge shots. These are not allowed in PGA Tour due to new rules on grooves from 1 January 2010 but should be good for social hackers at least till 2024.

Hybrid Shoes

If have heard of hybrid clubs but hybrid shoes? Yes, Callaway, Footjoy and Ecco have introduced hybrid shoes. Callaway hybrid shoes look just like your office shoes so you can now go to the airport straight off the golf course and from the office right on to a golf course. Ecco's look like atheletic shoes which you may have with you and decide in a whim that you need to go to the range or onto a course. Just like your Duck Tours that ride on land and jumps right into the sea.

Good luck and Happy Golfing!
