EPL 2020/21 - Game Week 32

David Moyes, Thomas Tuchel and Sam Allardyce have been doing such a great job for their clubs but in the last two games, Allardyce and his boys were the best! The Baggies are anchored second from last. The 5-2 thrashing away to Chelsea and a home 3-0 trouncing of Southampton were nothing but brilliant. Will it be enough for Big Sam to keep them up? If only Sam has come earlier. David Moyes has been brilliant throughout and bringing the Hammers up to 4th right now is no easy task. He is making West Ham rock. 7 games to go. How will it pan out this pandemic season?

Everton v Spurs - Everton have to contend with injuries and their early season form seemed to have fizzled out. Dominic Calvert-Lewin's injury may have affected them but in their 0-0 draw to Brighton, they were being dominated by the Seagulls who had 55% of the ball and 23 shots to their 8. To make matters worse, they have not won in their last 5 games and lost 3 of them thus leaving them in 8th but with a game in hand. Spurs in 7th are not doing a lot better, winning and drawing once in 5 games. In their last match, a 1-3 defeat to the Red Devils, they did not looked good only playing well in the first half and collapsed in the second. That seems to be their story so far. The way I look at it I still think Spurs are just slightly better. At least for now and I think Spurs can win because of Harry Kane. 1-2.

Newcastle v West Ham - Newcastle have been poor but take note that in their last 6 matches, they have lost only once and last week had Burnley beaten 2-1 away. On 3 occasions they came back to draw or win with Johnny come lately goals so West Ham had to beware especially they have been exceptional winning their last two matches 3-2, they have on both occasions nearly allowed their opponents to come from behind. Leading 3-0, they have allowed Wolves and Leicester to fight back to 3-2 but thanks to Jesse Lingard and Jarrod Bowen, they are soaring. The Magpies could score and fight back as you have seen but I think West Ham have been too good even with Antonio out. 2-3.

Wolves v Sheffield United - Wolves finally won a match after losing 3 and drawing 2 in five attempts. Sheffield United are doomed and lost all their last five matches scoring only once and conceded 14 goals even as they toiled hard. With Neto and Neves out, they may have to toil a bit harder. End of the day, Wolves have a wee bit more quality to win. 1-0.

Arsenal v Fulham - Arsenal are a mixed bag. Their last six matches were WLDLDW and Arteta seemed to be devoid of ideas how to turn things around but they may have turned a corner as they hit four past Slavia Prague away without reply to set up a meeting with Villareal in the Europa. Fulham were doing quite fine battling relegation but somehow nosedived having lost all four matches. Alexandre Lacazette have been in superb form and expect him to deliver again. Watch Mitrovic as he could score for Fulham.  2-1.

Manchester United v Burnley - Five straight wins after three straight 0-0. They are looking good and Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have been very good recently and oh how classy was Edison Cavani last week! After 3 games without defeat, Burnely have lost their last two. While Burnley could put out a stubborn resistance at times, the Red Devils pack too much quality so expect another win. 2-0.

Leeds v Liverpool - Leeds are on a row. 3 straight 2-1 wins with the last being a famous conquest of leaders City at the Etihad. How many teams could do that? Stuart Dallas was simply magnificent. Liverpool have gotten back their stride a bit as they have won 3 league games. The Arsenal win was impressive but the Real Madrid loss was poor. The 2-1 come from behind win over Villa was a determined effort with a wonderful goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold and they actually showed their quality as they dominated Real Madrid at Anfield but were wasteful with their chances. The only focus left now is a top four finish to qualify for the Champions League in what has been a poor season by their own high standard but Leeds are a very capable team. Klopp knew how they good they are as Liverpool won the season's opener 4-3. The Reds must be really good or Leeds could nullify their efforts. Their recent from has been much better and they will go all out for a win, provided they do not get caught. 1-2.

Chelsea v Brighton - Chelsea lost to Porto but won with a 2-1 aggregate so Tuchel's charmed life continues and will meet Real Madrid in the UCL semi-final. Brighton played well against Man Utd and Everton. If the Seagulls play like they did against Spurs and Liverpool, they could get something or are Chelsea too strong for them? Yes unless Brighton are at their best. 2-0.

Spurs v Southampton - Spurs have fallen having won only once in six matches. Southampton won twice in 5 games but the last was a 0-3 trouncing by WBA. As usual they needed Harry Kane to rescue them against Everton. The Saints 0-3 trouncing was due to partly to their subdued performance as well as WBA's brilliance. A Spurs win finally? 2-0.

Aston Villa v Manchester City - Villa have lost some spark since Jack Grealish was absent while all-conquering City was stunned by Leeds yet recovered to beat Borussia Dortmund despite the sparkling display of Dortmund's 17 year-old English youngster Jude Bellingham. The Birmingham boy was signed by and playing regularly for Dortmund in the Bundesliga providing and scoring from midfield. He was so good that journalists reported that he was more than a match for City's Kevin De Bruyne. City are still in the midst of all tournaments amazingly. Guardiola may rest and rotate some players but again they may still prove too strong. 1-3.

Leicester v WBA - Leicester have not lost twice in a row. I thought they have no answer to West Ham who led them 3-0 but the poor first half was changed when their came back fighting. Unfortunately, WBA are playing their best football of their season. No team should think that they could win a game against the Baggies but Leicester won't be too easily beaten. 2-2.
