Ginza Kuroson

There are good food and there are good food. Mee pok tah or dry noodles are nice food but may not be that good especially if you have them once too often.

You will also find Japanese food everywhere these days - at the market food stalls, hawker centres, restaurants and even very established ones with their chains and all. You will find that Japanese food here and over in Japan itself can be vastly different and not as authentic.

Its like the Japanese loving our chicken rice, laksa and bak kut teh here and then we go to Japan to eat their chicken rice, laksa and bak kut teh. So I came to Ginza Kuroson at Riverside View, Robertson Walk.

The first thing that catch your attention is that most of their customers are Japanese so you know the food is authentic. They placed a long shelf at the counter with ice cold green tea and all kinds of fish buried in ice.

Those who love cockles would surely recognise these huge ones that make great sashimi.

There were already several orders.

I have never tasted such great ice-cold green tea. There is a very strong taste of green tea in it.

I really love their Nagekomi-don and Chirashi-dan.

Japanese salads are great. If they had dressed it with peanut/sesame sauce it would have been even better.

Chirashi-don is basically chopped fishes with fish eggs and rice like a huge sushi in a bowl. Strongly recommended.

It is a riot of colours. This is very healthy.

Nagekomi-don is like the fishermen's catch for the day. Huge slices of fish sashimi with rice.

I would also certainly recommend this. This is what I would call good food.

These Chirashi-don and Nagekomi-don are so good I can have them everyday.

So good I promptly polished the bowl for them.

If you want something cooked go for their deep-fries fish.

I think it was drenched with tonkatsu sauce as I only had a bite.

Those with deep pockets can go for Kobe beef.

Looking at these fish makes your eating more interesting.

We could have gobbled a whole chunk of tuna - such majestic and strong fish.

It could not get more authentic than this - even the work of slicing the fish were done by the Japanese chef.

You sign off with a lovely chocolate pudding with a very good and strong chocolaty taste.

You have to lift up your scoop gingerly so as not to spill it.

This is where it all happened. There  is a need to be back here.

Robertson Walk is a lovely place.

A great place for food and drinks.
I like the architecture.

Truly great food at Ginza Kuroson. They hailed from Ginza in Tokyo. Several Japanese have told me they love it here. Oishi!!!
