EPL 2020/21 - Game Week 38

Image
Final week of EPL Game Week 38 of pandemic soccer. Ten games at the same time. How to surf?  City are already the champions, Sheffield United, Fulham and WBA were already relegated. The fight is on for top four finish as the last game of the season would be played at the same time on Sunday with some fans allowed back to the stadiums. Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester - one of them have to miss out qualification for the Champions League. Chelsea are away to Aston Villa. Liverpool at home to Crystal Palace and Leicester at home to Tottenham. Whoever misses out could still go to the Europa as consolation if you do not mind. Who will get the sixth spot for a Europa slot? West Ham, Everton, Spurs? Even the honours for the Golden Boot will go to the last minute of the last game of the season as Harry Kane and Mohamedd Salah are tied at 22 goals. Kane will be facing Leicester and Salah, Crystal Palace. So too the top assist leader where again Harry Kane is leading with 13 assists, one more t

Wow! Oh wow!  The weekend started with Newcastle playing to  3-4 defeat to Champions City. The Magpies led, City equalized then City led and Newcastle levelled and led before City wrapped things up. Leeds romped to a 4-0 away win over Burnley. Southampton won 3-1 yet again against Fulham. West Ham lost ground with a 1-1 draw away to Brighton. Crystal Palace came back twice to level up then win the game 3-2 versus Aston Villa. Tottenham claimed a 2-0 win over Wolves and Liverpool wow oh wow came back from the dead to win 2-1 away to WBA with a 90+5 minute headed goal from goalkeeper Alisson Becker from a last chance corner. What drama! Everton were shocked 0-1 at Goodison Park by bottom club Sheffield United.  Manchester United v Fulham - Manchester United in 2nd place and in the final of the Europa should see Solskjaer keeping his job despite many who have written him off. I like this kind of story for the underdogs. United are no longer underdogs and they could build from here. Fulha

Congratulations to Manchester City! Newly crowned EPL Champions! Not every club that has limitless funds wins titles and or build a great team. You have to give it to Pep Guardiola and his players. They could now go on to become UCL Champions for the first time!  Game Week 36 means two more games to go and its curtains. It will mean a lot to every team albeit for different reasons. Relegations battle is over but top four are still up for grabs. The gap when all is over will be filled up with the delayed Euro 2020 in June 2021. Now for the Game Week 36 and then 37: Newcastle v Manchester City - The Magpies are completely safe and last week's 4-2 away win over Leicester was unexpectedly impressive. City's title celebration was postponed and delayed after they lost to Chelsea again and it seemed that only Tuchel can get the better of Guardiola. With the title sewn, will City exert themselves or preserve themselves so that their best team could be safe to face Chelsea in the Champ

EPL 2020/21 - Game Week 35

The Manchester clubs are back, in the driving seat and very impressive. First and second in the Premier League, City are in the Champions League  Final for the first time after an impressive 2-1 away win over PSG and a home 2-0 win for a 4-1 overall win  and United took it farther with a 6-2 thumping of Roma and even as they lost 2-3, made it to the final on 8-5 aggregate . Arsenal on the other hand took a small tumble when they lost 1-2 at Villareal but have a valuable away goal but failed could only earned a 0-0 draw at the Emirates.  City will now meet Chelsea who  likewise overcame  Real Madrid with a 1-1 away game and a 2-0 win at home for a overall 3-1 win to set up an all English Champions League Final.  There is a 13 point gap between City and United which is probably too big to close even as United have a game in hand. City have already won the League Cup a record four times and still chasing the rest except the F.A. Cup. When they won at PSG, Pep Guardiola fielded Phil Foden,
