Liverpool are the English Premier League Champions!!! Because of their battling qualities, consistent results and winning mentality, the title was wrapped up even before they kick a ball as defending champions Manchester City were defeated 1-2 at Stamford Bridge. With seven games remaining, it is the earliest any side has ever won the Premier League title with the Reds leading by a phenomenal 23 points! If Liverpool secure 15 more points from their remaining games, they will set another new record. They can also be the first team to win every home match in a single season.

Ironically, their next match would be against Manchester City at the Etihad and will be given a guard of honour in this fixture by  the gracious Pep Guardiola and his boys. Even the unprecedented CoVid19 pandemic could not stopped them. Some rival fans have absurdly and continuously questioned if Liverpool will wobble. Heck, they have even called for the season to be null and void. Even neutral fans would agree that Liverpool deserve their place among the all-time greats! The longest wait has come to an end. Liverpool are already the Kings of Europe, World Champions and now they have the one they wanted most. Klopp's side are the fastest ever Premier League Champions and a this moment, the biggest winning margin. Liverpool eviscerated them all.

Sir Alex Ferguson at the time said that he wanted to knock Liverpool off their fxxxing perch and he went on to achieve it. He was right...to benchmark Liverpool who set the standard back then and now Liverpool has set a new and higher standard and back on that fxxxing perch. The haters and null and voiders will be there. The question is how long will the Liverbird be at the perch. Everyone will want to have a scalp to knock them off the perch. As a school boy fan of Liverpool since the 70s, I have never wavered because.....You'll Will Never Walk Alone!

Now for the rest...

After a long lay off and then rush, rush. Most teams are not playing to their level as matches come thick and fast and the TV time sucks here at mostly ungodly hours which makes it tough for us to keep up. Even writing about it is tough after the longest break. With seven matches left except for the obvious, it is going to be a scramble right to the end just like scrambled eggs - all over the place. So far from what I have seen the football standard is a wee bit below par which as I expected is kind of natural. When you are doing things day in and day out compared to a few months away but slowly but surely it must be coming back.

Manchester United have done well from the restart. It probably benefitted them somehow as they hammered Sheffield United with a Anthony Martial hattrick. The reverse is true for the Blades who seemed hardly their previous self. Liverpool took a step close to close the chapter with a stupendous 4-0 win at Anfield over Crystal Palace in an awesome performance shaking off the lacklustre display at Everton.

Manchester City's defeat at Chelsea ended their fight and mathematical chance and Liverpool are crowned champions. There are still plenty to fight for for the rest whether it is to qualify for the Champions League, Europa or to avoid relegation.

Aston Villa v Wolves - Villa rescued a crucial point at St. James Park and though still in 19th are now level with 18th Bournemouth and 17th West Ham on goal difference. They may save themselves if the other tow falter. A Villa win over Wolves will be a surprise even at Villa Park as Wolves are level on points with Manchester United and are in 6th. With Jimenez, Traore and Jota up front against the worst defence that have conceded the league's highest 59 goals, Wolves could do some damage like they did the Hammers away. 1-2.

Watford v Southampton - The Hornets rescued a most important point in their last match when they equalized in the 93rd minute at the brink of death against Leicester and are just a point above the drain. The Saints crashed 0-2 at home to Arsenal and will need some more points to be absolutely safe. It seems like both sides will battle to a draw. 1-1.

Crystal Palace v Burnley - Palace were on a solid winning streak with four wins and four clean sheets till they came to Anfield and were completely smashed 0-4 by a resurgent Liverpool and according to Opta stats, the first time ever in a Premier League match where the opponent could not even get into the penalty box for the entire match. It was probably the most complete performance at Anfield this season! Burnley came back from a 0-5 City hiding but won 1-0 at home against Watford. Based on the way both sides are organised, it is likely to be a draw. 1-1.

Brighton v Manchester United - It's a tough one for the Seagulls to soar despite being unbeaten in their last 3 games as they held Wolves and Leicester 0-0 away and beaten Arsenal 2-1 which means the Red Devils need to b good to win. United are in good from keeping clean sheets and winning but Brighton could surprise if they hold the visitors for long enough. I watched Brighton play and they have been quite good so although United are favourites, I won't be surprised that the home team could steal a point here. 1-1.

Arsenal v Norwich - The Gunners finally won after 2 defeats coming back to action. 11 points behind 4th placed Chelsea, Arsenal need to win every match. They got back to winning when they visited Southampton and won 2-0 so at the Emirates against Norwich, it seems to be a no-brainer. 2-0.

Bournemouth v Newcastle - It is going to be tough for winless Bournemouth hosting a Newcastle that have been unbeaten n their last five matches. I will give them a point here as Newcastle have other exertion and distraction in the F.A. Cup. 1-1.

Everton v Leicester City - Everton lie in mid-table while Leicester in third are just a point above Chelsea and have not won since the EPL returned. If they are not careful and start winning, they may be over taken. Goodison Park is not an exactly easy venue and the home side have players that could trouble them. Jamie Vardy has to start scoring as he his his team's talisman. 2-2.

West Ham v Chelsea - The Hammers lost both matches 0-2 after returning and are in the real danger zone. Chelsea are not only unbeatn for quite some tiem they have won their last four matches and were very impressive when they have beaten Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge handling the title to Liverpool. Their signings and reported signings are impressive and looks to have a brighter season ahead. West Han have not scored and wobbly at the back. Chelsea win. 0-2.

Sheffield United v Spurs - How good were the Blades before lockdown? Few teams could master or conquer their overall battling qualities. They have not been the same since returning and lost bothe their ties 0-3. Spurs are not firing on all cylinders but Harry Kane is back and scoring. However, Spurs have not been entirely convincing. 1-1.

Manchester City v LiverpoolPalace were on a solid winning streak with four wins and four clean sheets till they came to Anfield and were completely smashed 0-4 by a resurgent Liverpool and according to Opta stats, the first time ever in a Premier League match where the opponent could not even get into the penalty box for the entire match. It was probably the most complete performance at Anfield this season! City's mathematical possibility was over when they lost 1-2 at Chelsea. They are still a wonderful team to watch and very strong. There is now absolutely no pressure on Liverpool at all as the new crowned champions. They do not need anything not even a point. City themselves are 8 points clear of Leicester so too not much worry here. It could turn out to be an exciting match as both are attacking sides. 2-2.
