HIATUS

It's not even winter and I have already been hibernating. Winter never comes to this Little Red Dot on the map that have only three seasons - Hot, Hotter & Hottest! Sorry, make that six - Wet, Wetter & Wettest!
This hiatus was inevitable as the global recession took its toll since you are going to get busier, your energy burns out faster and you are left with not much for the day. The young people today are really IT savvy so the hardware facilities at home is never enough as so many activities on the internet, games, blogs, facebook, etc.are intertwined into a mammoth connection of multi-tasks which seems neverending. So young fellow like me couldn't lay hands on the laptop till almost midnight but at this ungodly hour, it is easy to be drooling on the keyboards as you fight your body's energy saving mode.
Going to the IT show is not going to solve your problems. Besides, blowing a hole-in-one in your pocket, you have to jostle with what looked like the F1 crowd around Suntec City. If you were to bend down to tie your shoe lace, you might be trampled to death in a stampede while at the escalator trying to get in only to lay hands on some products that is all too soon going to be obsolete or frustrated by its unworkability in some softwares. They should seriously consider building an escapalator for people who change their minds midway.
Many millions of $$$ were spent during the IT Show. Ditto during the Travel Fair and some Golf Sales. It does mean that people still have money to spend but because of the downturn everyone is cutting back due to uncertainties and a more sombre future lacking the confidence going forward. But when the pricing is right, predators abound. Let confidence return and the coffers shall flow again and keep the cash registers ringing...ka...ching...ing....
I am still an aspiring writer not an expiring writer.
I hope to find more time to write and to bring more cheers, hope, humour, satire and wit to brighten your days and nights. I have been especially encouraged by many friends who wrote to me to tell me personally that they enjoy my writings, reading my emails, etc.
In the meantime, cheers mate! Let's have our quantum of solace and then move on to greater things. Better things are bound to happen! Watch this space, I'll be back.
