EPL 2019/20 - Game Week 10

Liverpool played below their level when they visited Old Trafford last week and allowed Solskjaer to end their run of 8 straight wins for the season and 18 straight league wins in a row so that Mourinho's Chelsea record of 9 wins for a new season and Pep Guardiola's 18 wins are intact but the one point could prove crucial later on in the season. The point is (no pun intended), there was no better time for the Reds to secure all 3 points when they are at the peak of their powers and United at their lowest ebb. We all know that United will park the bus, try to steal a goal on the counter and close shop. Liverpool were not aggressive, lack conviction, not intense enough, there were not enough pressing and gave United too much respect. Not everyone knew that Liverpool v Man Utd is a derby and one of the biggest one. This is known as the North-West Derby and often a very intense one. The gap between the two sides this time is huge. Liverpool sit at the top while United are in 13th.

Do you believe in time travel? Most of us are intrigued by time travel from books to movies. How someone could travel to the future to change the past or go back to the past to alter the future and be a hero. Like the action movie "Terminator", a cyborg was sent from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Conor because her unborn son will one day lead the fight against an AI system that will spark a nuclear holocaust. Then there was the romantic movie "Somewhere In Time", where this man got fascinated by a photo of a beautiful actress while he was staying at this hotel where his obsession grew and he travelled back in time through hypnosis to meet her. I don't  know about time travel but I know that with a bit of imagination, we could go anywhere we want and those with plenty of imagination are children as they could imagine anything through play. Adults too can be imaginative if you play a lot when young for it is through play that you discover and learn to be creative. I

EPL 2019/20 - Game Week 9

I say golf as in life, play as it lies. Soccer may be the same. As the EPL take a break from international week, followers can take a breather too from the frantic pace. The weak can say "I am strong" and the mighty can fall. Every team could buy and trade players, managers, coaches, etc. Every team can train hard week in and week out. Older players can strut their stuff and the young ones could have  break out season. There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the sun. Well, go read for yourself Ecclesiastes 3. Also, every dog has its day.  Last Saturday early game saw the first shock when Brighton stunned Tottenham 3-0 and an unfortunate incident when Lloris once again fumbled with another howler by the 3rd minute, fell and landed awkwardly in what seems like his arm was broken. Hope he is well but it could be nasty and a long lay off. I knew Everton would not be up to it as they lost 0-1 at Burnley and went down to 18th position. Liverpool being

EPL 2019/20 - Game Week 8

Liverpool are still leading the way with Manchester City in hot pursuit. Leicester City are third with West Ham fourth. The rest on eleven points after seven games are Tottenham (5th), Chelsea (6th), Bournemouth (7th), Arsenal (8th) and Crystal Palace (9th). The bottom sides on six points are Brighton (16th), Norwich (17th), Aston Villa (18th), Newcastle (19th) and Watford (20th). Watford are the only team without a win while Wolves who were second last moved up to 13th with just their first win last week over Watford. Mid-week Champions League action could inspire or cause insipidness. You really do not know becuase they are also really different types of games. The top scorers till now - Sergio Aguero (8 goals), Tammy Abraham (7), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (7), Teemu Pukki (6), Raheem Sterling (6), Harry Kane (5), Jamie Vardy (5), Callum Wilson (5), Mohamed Salah (4), Sadio Mane (4), Bernardo Silva (4), Ashley Barnes (4). Brighton v Tottenham - The Seagulls toiled hard but
