While he was still a young man at the beginning of his martial arts career under Grandmaster Ip Man who founded Wing Chun, Bruce Lee absorbed knowledge like a sponge even when he was beaten up, he would analyse and search for answers on why different kicks hurt him differently. When Ip Man came back from a trip, he asked an older disciple who followed him to exchange information and practise with Bruce what he learned on the trip and in turn learned from Bruce.
