Butterfly

After the Chinese New Year holidays, I was in a pensive mood. I decided to go to a butterfly exhibition. It reminded me of school days excursion. I remembered visiting a brick factory in Jurong as a primary school boy. Don't think everyone one of you knew what a brick is by now. I also remembered that years ago, I wrote a piece related to butterfly and it was the "Butterfly Effect". Oh my, it was 7-8 years ago.  In case you have missed out, I feel you should read it and  this is the link: https://gforce-guru.blogspot.sg/2010/10/butterfly-effect.html (highlight this link and click go to) There were many songs and music about the humble butterfly from Mehdi, Chris Spheeris to Yanni and Mariah Carey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=SG&hl=en-GB&v=OkX1aiIfiG4 (Flight of the Butterfly - Mehdi) http://dziga.meta.ua/954059.video (Butterfly - Chris Spheeris) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBGzGcwYIlE (Butterfly Dance - Yanni) https://www.youtube.com/watch?

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 28

It would have been good if they had played some game over the lunar New Year. After the previous week;s excitement, mid-week European nights, the EPL is back. There have been critical changes in fortunes and positions including for those at mid-table and at the bottom. WBA are bottom, 5 points away for 19th position Stoke City. Southampton in 18th has a point more. At the top, Manchester City are the runaway leaders and champions in waiting with 72 pints, a clear 16 points away from 2nd placed Manchester United. The noisy neighbours have taken over. Liverpool climbed up to 3rd just 2 points behind and Chelsea clawed back to 4th another point behind. Tottenham is 5th just another point behind and Arsenal 6th, 7 points behind Tottenham.  Burnley in 7th have just 36 points is just 9 points more than 17th positioned Huddersfield. So as you can see,  if any team from 17th were to win their next three games and any team from Burnley down were to lose a few, they will be exchanging place

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 27

6 February 1958, British European Airways Flight 609 crashed at Munich airport. On that plane were the famed and legendary Busby Babes. There were 23 fatalities and 21 survivors. It destroyed what was to be one of the greatest generations of players in English football history. In that plane was a certain Duncan Edwards, who survived that crash initially but succumbed to his injuries weeks later. He was only 21. He was a very great player and also an entertainer. He was quick thinking with thunderbolt shots from massive thighs. I have never seen him play.  According to one of the game's great Sir Bobby Charlton, who was his team mate and survived the crash, Duncan Edwards was "the best player he has ever seen and the best he has ever played with". That is saying a lot from a great player himself.  All who has played with him or watched him play agreed he should be mentioned alongside all time greats like Pele, Maradona, Charlton, Best as the finest players who has ever p

Bedok Reservoir

The great thing about outdoor running is you could be running anywhere, anytime. The scene is always changing and that is a thing of beauty and choice. The morning, in fact each morning brings us renewed hope and yes fresh air. That time, it was decided to be at the Bedok Reservoir. I was early but many were already there to participate in an event. It was some group event that requires participants to run or walk around the reservoir. I was also wondering how many of you were still fast asleep on  lovely Saturday morning.  The serenity of the morning hue was spectacular. The water's reflection and the distant sand bank was a marker of an arduous task ahead.  Heaven's reflection was on the water surface. Heaven as it is on earth. The clouds burst apart and scattered as they welcome the sun. It is only when the climate is so cold that you appreciate the sun.The recent cold spell was a case in point. Here Comes The Sun. https://www.

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 26

There is a new trend in the English Premier League. It is called swapping. Is the soccer world running short of players, too many overpriced players bought in a rush and under pressure? Alexis Sanchez crossed over to United and Mkhitaryan moved over to the Gunners. Alain Giroud was surprisingly sold to Arsena's London rivals Chelsea and I thought he has been an asset having scored late goals to rescue his team on many occasions. Arsenal sold off Theo Walcott too, to Everton. Some folks were laughing about Theo but he was the only exception when he scored both Everton''s goals in their 2-1 win! Mkhitrayan went to Arsenal and Arsenal lost. Sanchez went to United and United lost. Giroud went to Chelsea and Chelsea lost. What is happening? This week, runaway leaders Manchester City visits a demanding venue at Turf Moor, neighbours Manchester United could save some embarrassment when they host Huddersfield, Chelsea have the opportunity to redeem themselves, Liverpool an
