Ping G30 Fairway Wood

Golf clubs release by models are just like cars. First, they give you the standard saloon car, they also give you a smaller version, a larger luxury sedan, a two-door sports coupe, a MPV and then SUV. A car for you every need and lifestyle. Because each brand has its own DNA and styling, each car model that rolls out too have their signature badges, grilles, slanted eye LED lights, unique A and C columns. The different models could even look alike at the bonnet or its contours. Golf clubs come in the same way. First, they release the driver, then the fairway wood, followed by the hybrids at the same time and very soon the irons. Wedges and putters too but wedges and putters are usually given a different model name. While I changed the Ping driver from the G30 to the G, I have maintained the G30 hybrid and fairway woods. Again, just like cars, not every latest or upgraded newest versions are the best or would be the one you like. It also depends on where the improvements lie. I

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 21, 22

While you were enjoying your Christmas parties, forgetting it is Christ the Lord's birthday and not yours, professional soccer players in the EPL were toiling for the challenges ahead and to entertain you. It is going to continue this weekend through New Year's Eve and the new year. Please spare a thought for these millionaire footballers some of whom earn more in a week than we earn in a year. Life is so unfair? Arsenal finally saw victory after sometime  at Palace  thanks to Alexis Sanchez.  Tottenham showed their enormous potential but overall are not as all-conquering yet. Liverpool shuttles between delight and anguish, otherwise, are as swashbuckling as City if not more. Chelsea's strength was typical and Manchester United were ordinary despite in 2nd position and needed Jesse Lingard to save their skin in the 92nd minute. Manchester City still won 1-0 at St. James Park and continue to run away.  Jose Mourinho claimed that United have not spent enough when nei

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 19

Everton have Sam Allardyce, Crystal Palace have Roy Hodgson, West Ham have David Moyes and WBA have Alan Pardew. Men of yesteryears, derided by some and when appointed, club fans even let off a collective sigh - "oh no!" Yet these battle hardened warriors with immense experience have taken the bull by its horns resurrecting the fortunes of the respective clubs after taking over. Yet, not all may survive. They are indeed very admirable. I have more respect for these men than some big name managers who are given unlimited cash to splash. This is to me the same in the corporate world or even in government. Success is relative.  Arsenal v Liverpool - This match decides if they will switch places between 3rd and 4th. After the United defeat the Gunners drew twice away and narrowly won at home to the Magpies. The Red have similar results but were back in rampant fashion as they trounced the Cherries 4-0 away. Lovren even bounced back to keep a clean sheet and scored a goa

JB Ah Meng

JB Ah Meng. From this name I would just guess that they hailed from JB and the boss is Ah Meng. So if you do not go to JB for JB tze char then JB and Ah Meng have to come to you right? No passports needed, just come over to Geylang Lorong 30. For tourists or the uninitiated, be aware that the odds and even numbers of Geylang Lorongs has great significance in purpose. I have heard about the place but it was my first visit. So what is all the rage and fanfare here? Yes, there was a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016.  Like all other eateries, they have their signature dishes. To savour it all, you will need  to have more people with you. Obviously, their white pepper crab must be good as it is famous. I have a couple of friends who when you show them photos of food like crab and they will go "you better watch what you eat, all these rich food''.  At first, it seems that they are like my mum. When she sees me buying or eating otah, she would go ''why a

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 18

Everyone lost points except Manchester City. No wonder they celebrated in their dressing room at Old Trafford and when an unhappy Jose Mourinho went in and asked them to tone down, it led to a ruckus and a melee ensued. City now 46 points and lead 2nd place United by 11 points, Chelsea are 3rd with 32, Liverpool 4th with 30, Arsenal 5th with 29 and Tottenham 6th with 28. The bottom three consists of West Ham (18th), Swansea (19th) and Crystal Palace (20th). City dominated United with at least 65% possession. Lukaku have not scored in a while and not only did he not scored here but he gave away City's winning goal. He fumbled a mistimed clearance which hit Smalling and Otamendi scored the winner. Meanwhile, at Anfield, Klopp named a surprised lineup as his rotation kicked in. He rested Firmino and Mane against Chelsea, Salah and Coutinho against Stoke, Hendrson against Spartak Moscow and then Coutinho and Firmino against Everton. It could have been a mistake when they needed a

Ping G30 Hybrid

Image
Everything has hybrids these days. Your cars, orchids - you name it and they have it. Golf must have have its own hybrid of course. Anyone remember the Cobra Baffler. I have played with one before. As you go down the numbers in golf clubs, the the lowest lofted irons are difficult to play. Golfers of the past suffered more and they have to work harder until inventions and technological breakthroughs, physics and materials did wonders. They had different toys. Then it started as rescue clubs, back in the good old day. Tom Crow was a scratch golfer and Australian inventor who founded Cobra Golf in 1973. He gave us the Baffler. The Baffler's bottom has two heavy metal rails, an idea that grew on Crow watching catamarans skidding across the sea. But catamarans has got nothing to do with snakes so why Cobra? Crow was watching a snake charmer in India and he was baffled as he could not believe what he was seeing. That was how he got the name ''Baffler''. Crow is now in

EPL 2017/18 - Game Week 16

City are run away leaders with an eight point lead after 15 matches. United kept up a bit with an important 3-1 away win at the Emirates. Chelsea kept pace with a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool climbed up to 4th with an emphatic five star performance away from home. Arsenal slipped to 5th and Tottenham have been tottering and now lied in 6th without a win in three matches.  Among the beleaguered clubs, Everton, with two wins, scored six goals without reply in their last two matches and now shot up to 10th. Bournemouth have improved but Huddersfield's early season form has fizzled. Palace (18), West Ham (19) and Swansea (20) formed the bottom three. A lot can still change with 23 more matches to go. This week shall bring forth more changes as each team face their own demons, angels and fate with mid-week European games that may affect them while others rested.  West Ham v Chelsea - Sometimes life is just so tough - to face Manchester City and then Chelsea when thi
