White Restaurant

Oh, I really could not find time to write. There was certainly no writers' block. This is not a good thing as I try to contain the brain jumping all over. Too often, I got mentally exhausted after a hard day's work. Perhaps it is a sign of ageing?  Oh time O time, why have you forsaken me? Let me bring back something most of us love - the joys of eating!  Sometime ago, after a golf game at Sembawang delayed by afternoon rain and lightning on a late evening, we decided to go to this tze char restaurant in an old coffee shop in Sembawang. There was scant car park space and a long queue. As I was running late, I wanted to just da pao some food for dinner. I parked at the end of a lane lined with private landed homes and I was careful to note that I was in no way obstructing anybody. While in the queue, my friend thought he saw a red flashing light far away and thought the summons guy was there. We quickly went back to our cars but alas it was too late. So I joined them fo

EPL 2015/16 - Game Week 7

To all my Muslim friends and readers, a belated Selamat Hari Raya Haji. In fact, I wish we can have hari hari Hari Raya!  The Hammers are this season's king-maker. They went to the Emirates and won 2-0. They went to Anfield and won 3-0 and then they visited the Etihad and won 2-1. I can't wait for them to visit Manchester United and Chelsea.  Tottenham v Manchester City - Tottenham have been winning matches 1-0 of late and the prolific Harry Kane has yet to score when he was scoring for fun non-stop last season. In all competitions in their last five matches, the home side actually has better results - DDWWW v City's WWLLW. In previous five head to head, City won four with Spurs winning one. The good thing has been that City has suffered a bleep. However, if Aguero plays then it would be different as he has scored ten goals in seven matches against Spurs and the home side has a poor record against City. but Aguero, last season's top scorer like Kane has not added

EPL 2015/16 - Game Week 6

I hope the entire season would throw up more upsets and surprise results like Everton 3 Chelsea 1 and please include that wondrous come from behind 3-2 win by Leicester over Aston Villa. Nobody would believe Everton could beat Chelsea and by 3-1 and at 0-2 down Leicester came back with such passion and belief and with such determination playing as if their lives depended on it. If only our local footballers could learn that. Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and even Manchester United could take a leaf from the Foxes. Though the season has a long way to go, Chelsea and Liverpool cannot afford to lose another match soon or their season is over.  Chelsea v Arsenal - How could Jose Mourinho be arrogant now? This is the time to borrow from election jargon "ownself check ownself". He has no one to pick a fight with. Just only last season they were so good people expect them to champions again this year but it is looking increasingly difficult and they have a meagre four point

EPL 2015/16 - Game Week 5

I am loving it! I am not talking about McDonald's, I am talking about Premier League soccer! I am not talking just soccer fever but also election fever. I like it so much I feel we should have it once a year. Haha. We should also have a league and point system and those really not up to the mark can get relegated where even the champions can get yellow or red cards and citizens can be linesmen and referees. You can also add on a transfer policy. When you watch some of the rallies, they have huge crowd. Why? Simply because the people can associate and feel a connection to the party. They struck a chord and made sense.  Next tap these fellows who can bring in the crowd to revitalise our S-League. Imagine at each match the same number of people turn up. You can sell kits, mugs and scarfs and definitely there will be rivalry. The problem with our S-League is a lack of rivalry. While in school, our soccer teams' rivalry were intense and some legendary. When it came to national
