EPL 2045/15 Game Week 35

Chelsea will take the title after hosting Crystal Palace this weekend. They deserve it. You can call them boring but they were very effective, consistent, clinical and some times very slick. No other clubs could touch them or catch them this season.  Leicester v Newcastle - The Foxes are in the form of their lives. It was the first time they have won four games in succession in the top flight. They are hosting the team in the worst form of their lives. The only thing that favours the Magpies is history as in nine meetings between both teams, Newcastle won five and lost none. Records and history means nothing. In soccer as in life, you can't depend on past glory and you are as good as you last deal. Home win. 2-0 . Aston Villa - Everton - Villa had a revival and was impressive recently only to have fell to Manchester City last week plus Gabriel Agbonlahor love scoring against Everton. Meanwhile, Everton has hit a purple patch and playing their best soccer this season only

Punggol Settlement Run

Run baby run. Occasionally, I'll take a drive to take a run. I like driving through the old Punggol road that leads to Punggol End that is now called Punggol Settlement. The dense foliage of old allowed only intermittent sunlight to pass through but not it is little balding with age. Was happy to get a car park and a tortoise greeted us. Saw a Wan Hai Lines container vessel that was steaming pass. As you run the landscape is changing. The sun, the skyline and ... ...the sea. You can focus on the things nearby. Or let the mind wander further in the distance. Or of fallen trees and fallen dreams. Or peek into a lone man fishing with just a brolly and a rod. I don't know about you but wherever I go, my senses always work overtime. Like feeler

Yangon 2015 - Part One

Image
Yangon, Myanmar was once Rangoon, Burma. Rangoon literally means "end of strife". It is the capital of the country and used to have a population of 5 million but I was told they seemed to now have 7 million. Yangon was first founded as Dagon circa 1028-1043. Today, they say Myanmar is the last frontier in South East Asia. Here I am, in the capital of the last frontier. They were once known as the garden city of the east. At one time, their public services and  infrastructure were reported to be on par with London. I got a sense of new development as I saw some extension to the airport and a temporary car park. Welcome to Yangon, the sign says. It was busy as the roads were congested. Signs of progress. There were derelict buildings but... It has the largest number of colonial buildings in the region. Passed by a hotel that has a name that perhaps says it all. I saw a church. And more colonial buildings.   Finally a lo
